I have been attending this practice for a number of years. It is always a pleasure to be greeted from the lovely receptionists Carolyn Julia Margaret Natasha Christina weekends if i have missed someone they are all very nice and helpful. Dr Leo and all other Drs i highly recommend this practice always trying to help people and ensure they are cared for with utmost professionalism and health management.
I've gone to this medical centre for years, and can't fault the actual service provided by the doctors. My most recent appointment in person the doctor was an hour late, I just took it as a one off. However yesterday, I had a telephone appointment booked for 11:45pm, I waited until 12:45pm and still had not received a call so I had to end my work break. I finally received a call at 1:25pm, I couldn't answer as I was at work so a voicemail was left informing me the doctor was ready to have the appointment and to call the medical centre back. I couldn't call back as I was no longer on break, and once again I was just going to take it as a one off and let it go, and try and reschedule. However this morning I received a text message informing me that I had missed my appointment and if I am unable to keep an appointment in future, a call 2 hours in advance would be appreciated? Great customer service, passive aggressive text messages to patients when they aren't even in the wrong - I did not miss my appointment, the doctor was almost 2 hours late? I am honestly not the type of person who leaves negative reviews for anything, but this was seriously ridiculous to me. Save your money and go to a GP that bulk bills, this place is not worth it unless you're happy to wait over an hour for an appointment and be sent condescending texts the next day.
My wife and I ran the gauntlet with the GPs at this practice. Back and forth, back and forth... ad infinitum... may God have give me strength! After several consecutive doctors and 10 years of stroke-like symptoms, headaches, forgetfulness, confusion, tiredness, nerve pain and being fobbed off with Panadol, I was starting to think it was my imagination. The doctors we consulted, tended to focus on other things they felt were important and not the painful complaint I was actually there for. We finally made the decision to leave Eastbrooke Medical and consult another GP. Within days, I was sent for a spinal MRI head to coccyx and was immediately diagnosed with a herniated disk, two other disk injuries and Cervical Myelopathy... which is now beyond surgery and slowly killing me. I now walk assisted with a walking stick, which is just terrific. My wife also has medical problems that are causing her distress, most of which have been dealt with were fixed within months of visiting our new doctor. The ineptitude, inaction and rudeness we encountered from some of the Eastbrooke Medical doctors over the years, was at times, astounding. We`re so glad we made the decision to seek help elsewhere. The reception staff, particularly Julia, were wonderful. We do miss them.
I don't understand why there are so many people giving such negative feedback esp. about the receptionists. The reasons given I believe from the public are unreasonable and unfair expecting the world from others to the extreme and when they don't receive they whine like babies. I suffer from a debilitating mental health issue which causes miscommunications, and issues that make communication extremely difficult most of the time. I also visit the clinic about 3 times per month, Yet I have never ever found the receptionists anything but extremely nice, understanding, reasonable and helpful.
I recently moved to the area and was looking for a good GP for my new baby. I took my 6 week old to see Dr Helena Gawlinska and she was exactly what I was looking for. Dr Helena was nice, caring, knowledgeable and very very thorough. Thankfully I’ve now found my family GP! Definitely will be recommending her to family and friends!
Have been going to this practice since it opened and prior to that seeing 2 of the drs that were starts ups there. All in all 42 years and now the last two appointments I have been told there is not enough time to finish my double appointment even after waiting 45 minutes with 15 minutes of that time the Dr. Was in the rooms by herself. The Dr. Was too focussed on her lunch and down time. My app. Was at 11.30am. Never have I been treated so badly and I never will be treated like that again. I was told to come back again but I was unable to go a third time and basically did not want to. I think it is time to move on. So disappointed after all these years. The Dr should not expect people to book double appointments constantly. They need to learn time management. THERE WAS NO EMERGENCY EITHER. Just need to add, a phone appointment was made and a double at that, dr. Was 35minutes late in calling the conversation lasted 2mins 28secs and this could not be done during the other 2 appointments.
I used this centre for the first time this year during the covid vaccination clinic and was greatly impressed with the professional and efficient service I received not just from Dr Helena Gawlinska and nurse Glady but also the caring and friendly reception staff. Natasha was extremely helpful with many questions I had about the vaccination and the process. Her sincere and compassionate nature was greatly appreciated at a difficult and anxious time for me. I highly recommend Eastbrooke Medical Centre Carlton.
The COVID clinic was efficiently run. The receptionists, Natasha and Maree, were polite and professional particularly when making arrangements for our second dose. The nursing staff and doctors were accomodating - making sure we felt completely comfortable. Extremely satisfied with the high quality service.
Just experienced the worst service from Eastbrooke Carlton after I received two very surprising invoices. My husband and I were each charged $125 for a "surgery consultation". We were simply getting our blood test results and checking weight. I left after 15 minutes during my consultation as I had another appointment to get to the DR was running 40 minutes behind which is understandable and my husband stayed on after that. We should not be charged for disorganisation my full blood test results were not in the system and we definitely shouldn't be charged for going over time because the GP's computer kept freezing. In future, a heads up that we will be charged after 15 minutes would be great. In future I will be taking my family to a bulk billed and more friendly medical centre. This is so unjust!
I tuned up at the clinic and was told off by a reception lady. She said I should have taken my own responsibility and been on time. I said to her I did not blame anyone for my own mistake nor for the cancellation of my appointment . However, I do believe this clinic can provide basic customer service by explaining in advance to patients and their carers that their appointments can be cancelled automatically if they are turning up late and informing clients that whether they have booked a 15-minutes or longer appointments. By the way, when I mentioned the word"service" to the receptionist, she was shocked. I do not know why as a agreeable patient and a customer, I do not deserve basic "customer service".
