East Sydney Hotel
"The East Sydney Hotel - offering affordable country style accommodation in East Sydney, a short walk from the Sydney CBD. Known as the last country pub in the Sydney Metropolitan area. Historically restored , we have open fireplaces, wooden floors with copper nails , quality draught beer, quality food and pub snacks, and accomodation in the old-fashioned country tradition. There's always an interesting mixed clientele, and no pokies."

This place has a good feel to it. Old school decor with the place full of classic memorabilia. One or two good beer options on the pumps, with East Sydney Brewing proving a few good options. The Pale Ale and the Lager are decent. More space out the back.
Happy to support a Family owned hotel. I stayed here for a few nights and it was really nice considering the price, felt as home actually. There are 3 toilets and 2 showers at the floor i was staying but never had to wait for neither of them. The place was a bit noisy but there's nothing to do with that! They allowed me to stay a few hours behind the check out time which was really nice of them. I would come back!
My son and I visit here regularly after a museum trip. He loves the chicken schnitzel and me the halloumi fries. Oh and I also like the beer selection and old fashioned pints in handles. Been coming here for years, and it’s still a grand old fashionable Aussie pub. Recommend.
The hotel is on top of a country style pub. The reception is the bar. The bar staff is very helpful. The bar have love music, so it makes the rooms a bit noisy. The price is very good for the location. Although the building is old, the room has aircon and TV. If I have to stay in Sydney again I'll go back to this hotelRooms: 5/5
Love going to local pubs to try their food so dropped in here today for lunch. The service was awesome, very friendly, 5 stars but the food was shocking! I ordered the fish finger burger which came with fries and what I got was 2 fried miniature fingers, half a lettuce leaf and the bun. It was terrible!
Great vintage pub and hotel. Stayed upstairs the owner Sam is a such a nice bloke, super friendly staff and so affordable considering the perfect location. If you are on foot and trying to see the best of CBD you can't go wrong. Will be back!
Was excited for the Sunday roast which on all signage in the pub and online says it’s available ‘from 12pm’ only to find it didn’t start till 7. Ordered standard pub grub and it was standard at best - certainly overpriced for the quality. Cute bar out front but don’t go there for the food.
Had my 70th birthday there, 33 people. Well looked after and most reasonably priced. Everyone commented on what great place for a get together. Lovely small pub in Sydney, a rarity today.
Great location, clean rooms, and friendly staff. Had a comfortable stay at East Sydney Hotel. Highly recommend!
Great little pub without pokies and just a short walk from the CBD. Opened in 1856 as The Shamrock Hotel it's been historically renovated. I haven't tried the food but other reviews say it's good. Just a breath of fresh air so close to the city.
