Easey’s has a unique design of a train carriage turned into a restaurant, right on top of a building. Graffiti everywhere to match Melbourne’s street art. It’s a very hip restaurant and I highly recommend booking if you want a seat in the train carriage upstairs. If not, you’ll be placed downstairs. I’ve actually tried Easey’s years ago and found that there was no wow factor, which is why I haven’t re-visited. But since my burger loving cousin always craves burgers, we thought we’d give it a try again. The burgers are good - simple and done well. But still, it’s missing that wow factor. Don’t get me wrong, it still tastes really good, but I think my expectations are quite high for burgers, so to me it was very ordinary. The chilli cheese fries were great! You really can’t stuff this up. Easey’s is still worth a visit because of the restaurant structure. It’s pretty iconic having train carriages on top of a story building.
Very good ambience and a unique design for a restaurant. Loved the food here too and the burgers are a must try for me. The wings were great too, if you love buffalo sauce. However they don't have a cafe that does hot drinks, nevertheless a good place to dine.
Really unique atmosphere, be sure to call and ask for a 'train' table on top as sometimes you can't do it online. Its a narrow space but a cool vibe. Can order cocktails, beer and wines. Great juicy burgers. Milkshakes are really nice, thick with icecream. Definitely recommend the cheeseburger or double rowdy cheeseburger if you like a bit of spice. Overall decent service.
One of my favourite places to eat! Not just because you get to eat in a Haitchi train! The food is delicious! I love the burgers because the meat patty isn't too thick and it's nicely charred and gives a good crunch. The cocktails are hard to choose from as they all sound good. The price is very cheap for the quality you get! I highly recommend going!
The decor is definitely unique and a trip down memory lane. The ambiance on the ground floor is somewhat strange although there's music in the background there's an awkward silence or soft whispers while you eat The food has flavours, however, it's worth a penny and not value in size. There are a few other items on their menu that's worth visiting again to try. Bookings seems to be essential, but it doesn't seem to guarantee the rooftop if you wanted seating above ground. The establishment is small and busy we didn't know it was required until we got there and was almost turned away like a few other patron after us - we're not locals so that would've been disappointing if this is a common issue We came without a reservation, the staff member was not so hospitable when we advised that we didn't have a booking, but manage to set a table for us - it must be tiresome to keep having to turn customers away, the service has opportunity to improve
Quite an experience having lunch in a train on top of a building. Beautiful interior with lots of artwork, perfect for photo taking. Food were great as well! Totally recommend anyone to make a trip there if you are in Melbourne.
This place has an amazing layout. A train ontop of a building like, thats cool. The view is really cool and the decor matches the vibe really well. The burger selection is extensive and something for everyone. The burgers were really nice. I’d probably skip the hot dog as it was just mediocre.
I would have given Easey’s 5 stars, but the poor service ruined an otherwise great dining experience. The female server serving our drinks was extremely moody and impatient, making us seem unwelcome. The floor manager was the worst of all, asking us to leave while waiting for someone from our party who was using the toilet. He even sighed when one of the payment cards didn’t go through. As as we got up the stairs, he literally screamed’Do you have a booking?’ even though we had a booking. I feel like we were being treated like we were in a prison cafeteria. Props to the gentleman who was serving the food- he was the only friendly person in this joint. Unfortunately we will never come back here. Rude staff ruin this otherwise great experience. Hope the owner takes notice
We didn’t get to sit up in the trains so if I’d definitely recommend booking if you want to sit in the trains kind of the main point of going Easeys. There’s still seats downstairs so don’t stress if you didn’t make a booking. The wings were not very good, so I wouldn’t recommend them, they didn’t feel like they were baked which is how buffalo wings should be. The burgers were good, but not enough for me to want to come back cause I feel like I could just get them anywhere else, there wasn’t anything special about it.
Great American food. Cheeseburger and fries with cheese and chilli. Delicious chocolate mild shake with banana and caramel. Roof carriages were fully booked but the ground floor room sufficed. Great service.
