Welcome to Eaglehawk Dental – the home to exceptional comfortable dental care

Our team is committed to working in collaboration with patients and their families to achieve and maintain good oral health. We believe developing good oral hygiene habits at a young age is an important part in Child’s growth. We are aware that people may be anxious when visiting a dentist, which is why we do things differently to make your experience as pleasant as possible. Our mission is to deliver the best and finest dentisty with patient care and ease at the centre of our treatment objectives. All our dental surgeons and nurses are highly trained and well qualified, using the latest instruments and equipment. A brief introduction of why we are the talk of the town includes our comfy dental chairs, state of the art digital x-rays and intra-oral cameras, ceiling mounted entertainment televisions, and an eye for style with our welcoming decor. Nothing has been spared in making your dental experience relaxing and enjoyable.

We also have a practice called Bendigo Smiles located at 78 Arnold Street, Bendigo.

When one walks into our clinic they can be rest assured every member of our team will go an extra mile to ensure you are well looked after.

The practice was initially formed by Dr.Jim Thomson several years ago. Dr.Priya Naik and Dr.Mithun Shetty, founders of Bendigo Smiles Dental clinic, are extremely humbled by the opportunity given to them to take over in 2013 and form Eaglehawk Dental, enabling them to extend their services to Eaglehawk and surrounding areas. Both are experienced and dedicated dental surgeons with a vision to cater to the needs of the community and contribute to its success

Our Staff consists of kind, friendly, caring, experienced, energetic and dedicated individuals whose common goal is to provide the best care possible to our patients.

Our dentist, Dr.Maheesh Nair is calm, gentle and compassionate. He believes in taking things at your pace. He is a thorough professional who puts his work above all else. He is well versed in all aspects of general dentistry including preventive, cosmetic, restorative, extractions, dentures, root canal treatment. Maheesh graduated in 2005 and is a Board Certified dental surgeon. Since then, he has committed to extensive hours of continual training and development that has allowed him to incorporate the most advanced treatments available in General and Cosmetic Dentistry.

This unique combination of training and expertise allows Maheesh to diagnose and treat many complex cases from start to finish and to obtain the best results for his patients. Maheesh firmly believes in building an honest and empathetic relationship with each of his patients with a goal of delivering pleasant dental experiences tailor-made to suit your needs. On down time, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.

With increased demand from our patients we have extended our service to the field of Orthodontics. Through continued education our dentist Dr.Mithun Shetty is now able to offer a Comprehensive Orthodontic solution at an affordable cost. Included in the myriad of his skills is fixed braces treatment, use of Inman aligner (a relatively new appliance, which offers a faster solution to correct minor tooth alignment problems) and Invisalign or invisible braces.

Children’s dentistry

Our Oral hygiene therapist Alison Thomas is a mother of three beautiful children. Hence love and concern comes naturally to her. The fact that she has a lot of patience goes without saying. She is thoughtful but strong, enabling her to give instructions that children follow. Her softness and gentle nature is exhibited in her ability to treat children compassionately. Her friendly face and kindness is often welcomed by our child patients with excitement. She has the gift to be able to capture the attention of children and get them to listen. She takes pride in educating the children on importance of diet, drinks and proper care on teeth. Alison loves working with children and this is evident in the joy she spreads to them. Being born and brought up and settled in Bendigo ensures continuity of care through to adulthood.

We bulkbill for Child Dental Benefit Scheme CDBS is a Medicare funded programme that allows for upto $1000 basic dental treatment over a 2year period for eligible 2-17 year olds. You are usually eligible if you receive Family Tax benefit A or other relevant Australian Government payments. Medicare usually send you a letter stating the same. Under the scheme most preventive dental procedures are covered with no out of pocket expense.
