Eagleby Learning College

The Eagleby Learning College (ELC) was opened over 25 years ago with a focus on various short courses for the local community for both school aged students and adults.
Seven years ago the model was significantly changed to meet the growing need of disengaged youth in the community. ELC now aligns with State High Schools and has grown rapidly ever since. ELC is the South East Region Learning College (SERLC) biggest and most established campus and is the location of the “Head Office” for SERLC. Being the biggest and most established ELC offers the widest range of year 10 and Senior subjects as well as numerous Certificate courses. SERLC is also a mature aged school so Adults are allegeable to enrol (* fees and conditions apply).

Varsity Lakes Learning College

The Varsity Learning College (VLC) was opened in July 2015 and is the second campus of the South East Region Learning College to be opened. It is modelled on ELC and has experienced rapid growth during this time. This campus offers a full range of subjects for Year 10 through to 12. Because VLC is a campus of the South East Learning College it is eligible for a mature aged school so Adults are allegeable to enrol (* fees and conditions apply).

Helensvale Learning College

Helensvale campus is the third campus of the South East Learning College and has come about due to the success of the other two campuses and the growing need for an alternative avenue for students to obtain their year 10 and senior education in the State Education system. The Helensvale campus offers the Northern Gold Coast region the opportunity of an alternative State High Education. Because HLC is a campus of the South East Learning College it is eligible for a mature aged school so Adults are allegeable to enrol (* fees and conditions apply).

Mission

Courses are at convenient times; throughout the week, evenings and weekends and our friendly staff are interested in helping you to achieve your goal.

My daughter goes to Helensvale and this school is not rated nor helped enough by the government. Every admin or teacher or principal I have spoken to cares about my daughter’s education without judgement. Empathy, compassion and all round care is taken here. I highly recommend this school.
Seems to good for education, however my daughter attends the helensvale branch. She was given the opportunity to do a traineeship, she was so excited, went and done the trial day, absolutely loved it and was told that she had it. She was absolutely ecstatic. She has now been informed that because she is unable as she can't drop any of her subject. These kids are meant to be getting built up, not knocked down.nEXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!nDefinitely will NOT be recommending this place, now once again I have to pick up the pieces
Fantastic School can’t fault it and my daughter is actually going to school and loving it
As a former student, I came to this school because my mental health issues were causing dramatic implication on my school performance at Beenleigh State High School, when I had my interview, they said they would offer nonstop support as they do for all their students.nI have been at this school since March and it is the most pathetic, discriminatory school I know. The teachers do not offer support in class, when I’ve made meeting with the principal and HOD, I was made to feel like everything was my fault. I explained the issues with teachers not helping, and they disregarded it. After another meeting, I tried to explain the situations in the classrooms teachers throwing things at the front of the room, slamming doors and leaving the class for 5-10 mins at a time, but the principal told me to shut up, interrupted me every time I spoke, was constantly yelling over the top of me and told me to get out of his school. He said “he can say whatever he wants to me in his school” this does not include abuse and threats in my opinion. The school does not communicate with its staff nor students AT ALL, they do not care for the mantel health or wellbeing of their students. The “creator” of SERLC is currently sitting in classes to see if her program “still works”, with the new ATAR system and no support for the teachers, this system clearly does not work anymore. I do not recommend this school, I wish I had stayed in mainstream school so I would’ve actually had a future and support. Do not enroll your child in this school if they wish to go to University one day.
My daughter loves this school, and is so much happier here than at a main stream school.
