On time. Clean inside and out. Engaging excellent driver. Reasonable rate. What more can you ask for, from a Taxi. I checked out Uber at the time and they were about $5 to $7 dearer and the expected price changed from $25 to $27 in a matter of 5 minutes plus we had to wait twice as long before they could pick us up. Admittedly it was the day after Red Hot Chilli Peppers concert. But for all that Dunedin Taxis were very good.
Delays can be long. Be helpful if customer service staff were honest about this instead of "your next in the clue" each time I phoned over next 3 hours
Ordered a taxi about an hour before I needed to go to work. Was waiting and then decided to ring and see how far away it was. No cars were free apparently and they had no idea if and when I was going to be picked up before 7:30 which is when I start. Even booked the taxi for 20 mins before I had to be there so that didn’t happen. Canceled and ordered an Uber instead. Last time I’ll try support this business. Lady on the phone was rude and didn’t even want to seem like she cared at all.
Terrible service. First taxi waited for 45 min only for it to show up then another lot of people took it. Then waited again for another 30min for another one to show up. Second time next day waited 25 minutes called again friendly staff member was helpful but still no taxi after another 20min. Gave up called told them not to bother any more and walked the 30min. Staff member was helpful and did call back but it was too late by then. Absolutely shocking service to even get a ride. Will not be using this service again.
The drivers for Dunedin Taxis are always friendly and polite. The fares are reasonably and they are timely they also send a text when their 400 meters away from pick up which is good. Really good service. Thank you
Driver deliberately gave me the runaround to run the meter up, even when the first thing i said was i needed to meet my partner who was having a procedure at the hospital. I questioned her after several 'wrong' turns according to satnav and she just mumbled something about following her phone instead. After being in town for a couple days i realised she was definitely taking a longer route to my accom before going on to hospital. Incredible lack of morals.
Booked a taxi an hour in advance. Taxi didn't turn up, called and was told i could be waiting an hour and a half. Would have been easily able to make alternate plans if the booking wasn't taken in the first instance.
Always so helpful and friendly and..... not that I encourage it..... can handle multiple changes in booking with a gracious smile you can hear in their voice.
Almost fifty percent cheaper than Uber; and arrived within five minutes - pretty good for after 10pm on Saturday night!
