This airport is a 30min drive from Dunedin central. There is great parking/drop off or shuttles to catch if you pre order.
The rental car counters are an outside under cover short walk close to the airport & the cars are parked close by.
Check in is with screens downstairs for those who have not already checked in online and there's plenty of southern hospitality and help from the close at hand ground staff.
There is an escalator or lift to catch to ride to the second floor where you can find the gate/s to your plane, seating, delicious food outlets & a tourist store. Security screening for the jets are upstairs too

12/Apr/2018 Update... Busted from 5 stars to 1 star; those bloody parking ticket machines were on the blink again tonight, in particular the two that are together. For God's sake how hard can it be, its so frustrating paying $22 when the bloody machines aren't working. We all had to shift to the three by the door, at least they were working. I see they've had an upgrade lately BUT THEY STILL AREN'T RELIABLE! 0/10.
March/2018... Big shout out and thanks to to staff at Dunedin airport who jump started my car a couple of weeks ago (because I left something turned on for four days - DOH). Great job with a jump Pak, most appreciated and keep up the good work. 20/10.

Compared with the Auckland and Christchurch Airports, Dunedin Airport is a smaller one, less busier but offers less expensive food, better deals and relaxed atmosphere. I really enjoyed this airport and am hoping that in the near future, there will be more international flights coming to Dunedin.
