Good little old school fish and chips shop. Location and taste took me back to my childhood. An interesting mix of different fish and calamari, all fresh and made to order. They only do deep fried and only accept cash, but $30 for the four-person meal fed our family happily.
I wanted to love this storybook fish and chips shop so much, sigh. True to form, I fell in love with it when I arrived and met with a place so full of character it jumped straight out of a children's storybook. There was only 1 thing wrong, and it was the fish and chips. The fish was very, very dry and overcooked. The chips were greasy and soggy. There was no sauce at all to go with it, just some lemons. The calamari was not bad but we came for the famed fish and chips. Perhaps we just came on a bad day.
Great old shop with alot of history but did not enjoy the meal. We visited after being recommended to visit as the fish was sourced from local fisherman however we were disappointed with the food. There is only seafood baskets on the menu and they are priced fairly high for what you get. We must of come on a bad day as the fish did not taste fresh at all. Overall would of preferred to visit the other local cafes offering better menus. The distillery next door was also a better experience with great gins on selection.
Budget fish and chips. We paid $20 for seafood basket for 2 people. Fish was nice and fresh as well as calamari. Nice service in an original and authentic place. Very nice experience Also there was a good choice of local veggies, fruit and herbs at steal price.
Great, tasty, and easily located spot for Fish & Chips on the route to Port Arthur. Seafood Basket was exceptional when we visited it's simple, sure, but very tasty and the gin tasting next door was a surprise find too. NB - Fish Market cash only in July 2022. But worth it!

A real traditional Tassie fish and chip shop. Fresh caught fish. ... You get a delicious assortment of whatever the days catch has produced. Great food, great atmosphere, great value. Note that they're cash only, no EFTPOS.Food: 5/5
It was recommended and was quirky. I didn’t mind the little bits of random fish and calamari we just didn't enjoy it. The chips were fine but the fish greasy and not crunchy. It wasn’t for us.
Fresh and delicious. Unlike other fish and chipperies, you pay per person. Cash only. 2 people for $25 for such amazing produce is a bargain. Open 11am-3pm, but not every day. It's like that.Food: 5/5
