A cute little joint on the ground floor lobby of the ST Hotel on Sheridan Street. Easy to get to on foot although it’s about 20 minutes walk from the centre of town which I usually take to be the Night Mkts. Nice, pleasant and tasteful décor with white walls and timber floors creating a warm, welcoming and homely atmosphere. There are plenty of tables so there’s no need to book. Generally there’s a reasonable crowd here, so the ambience is lively and fun, but at the same time, it’s casual, laid back and relaxed. We generally visit here every time we’re in Cairns. On this occasion, we ventured beyond just the traditional dumplings and also chose veg spring rolls, curry buns with beef, and a lemon chicken. Apart from the dumplings and spring rolls, the other dishes were disappointing. The lemon chicken was too salty and the buns were a tad tasteless. I think next time we’ll stick to dumplings. Service is friendly, polite and efficient and prices are modest. Toilets are just outside the restaurant. They’re clean and well provisioned.
Delicious food, very fast & great service, iced lemon tea was delicious and the only fault was my beer was cool not ice cold!
Authentic Chinese yum cha! All foods are delicious, especially the red wine chicken and duck! If I live here I’ll come every week
Delicious dumplings, roast duck and pork. Fantastic Pork steamed buns. Boxing chicken with sweet and sour sauce is so good. All made in house apparently. Must get back to try the lunch menu, which is Friday to Sunday only.
Best Chinese restaurant in Cairns. The dumplings are simply Devine. There is also a great variety of dishes available to suit any diner. The dishes are full of flavour and at great prices. The service is also excellent.Food: 5/5
Pork dumplings would have been nice if they werent frozen still. Pan fried pork buns tasted and looked like dog food. Not great. Then had satay beef which after one mouthful got up and left. Not a happy camper to say the least.
The food was amazing. The steamed pork bun here are some of the best that I have ever had. I should have order two servings. Also, get the dumplings - any dumplings. They are all great. The pan fried pork and chive are definitely worth a try. The dumplings in broth are also good and the chicken and sweet corn are very good. We had the traditional lemon chicken as a main and a special fried rice. The lemon was zesty and quite sweet. The chicken was battered and fried which I didn't expect, but it was fine. The restaurant was very busy and service was a bit slow, but the servers were doing their best. They had take away orders too. It looked like a lot to manage. Definitely would recommend food though.
Delicious meal. Enjoyed the steamed dumplings and the coral trout was white, succulent, perfectly cooked. Recommend! Home made ice cream topped it off.
My boyfriend and I came early for date night, we had two mains and a desert. When we split the bill it was only 17. Each! Was mind blown by how affordable it was in an age where it seems like you pay 20 for a toasted sandwich Will be returning here again!! Don’t skip on the sweet potato and coconut desert bun! Delish
Best dumpling experience in Cairns. As locals we appreciate the kind and lovely service with a smile. The beef brisket noodle soup is amazing and keeps us coming back for more my partner raved about it since our first visit. Their flavours are authentic and dumplings are handmade with love! Quick food service and we always leave full! We will continue to come back to this gem! Also, great chilli oil....
