Awesome! Just awesome. This area is a must see. The caravan park is well run and the staff/owners are so knowledgeable about the area I doubt you could stump them. You can't see all there is to see in one day. The scenery is magnificent, the beaches are squeaky white sand and the water is blue really blue. The fishing is great and 4wd on the beaches is a lot of fun. I want to live here.
Great location and very convenient spot to find. The facilities are clean and the staff are friendly and accommodating. However, this is a privately owned park that is suffering from a legacy of being an expanded version of a former farmers fishing shack hamlet. Everything is sub par by today's standards. It's also very popular with dog people due to its location outside of the national parks.
This caravan park is all about the location. Our dog loved her sunrise runs on the beach which was 50m from our tent ! If you need the latest decore and a pool, then this isn’t the place for you. But if you want a shady, friendly park with clean blocks and a reasonably supplied shop, with a short drive to some of the best beaches in the world., then look no further.
Stopped for fish and chips. It was pre-crumbed frozen but was actually quite good. Best spot around here to visit for amazingly blue/green water is Wharton Bay. Sand is hard, making it easy to park on the beach without deflating tyres.
Visiting The Duke was absolutely amazing. The highlight was definitely the beaches with their crystal clear water and white squeaky sand. Nothing can compare to that! The caravan park isn’t fancy but it is a great place to stay. I really recommend visiting The Duke and Esperance. Oh, and bring a drone because the bird eye views are even more beautiful!
Another caravan park that has chosen greed over service. We booked an unpowered site 9 months early, site P. After returning from the beach our camper trailer had been blocked by 2 caravans and a camper van, we couldn’t even get our car next to our site. As the overflow was full, management had told them they could park there. What’s the point of booking a site when this can be done?! There is a camp kitchen but it is completely surrounded by camp sites and only accessible by them. There is only one toilet/shower block 2 toilets & 2 showers in close vicinity. March flies are also an issue but this obviously is just part of camping in the bush/near the beach. On the positive side the location to the beach and National park is great, and the shop has all the things you might need including hot food and fuel. While this has a beautiful location the poor management dampened our experience and we won’t be coming back.
Breathtakingly beautiful surroundings, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and well equipped cabin, very clean shared facilities and a genuine feeling of down to earth, easygoing but hardworking life in the best Aussie tradition!
We were here at a quiet time and found it peaceful apart from some noisy renos going on in one of the chalets nearby. Looks like a great place for families with young kids and fisher friendly.
Location amazing, facilities are old. Shop service and large product range are great. Camp kitchen contains BBQ, picnic table, sink and benches. A couple of the chalets have been modernised and while still simple, they have really made a difference. Will be good to see it rolled out across all chalets and bathrooms.
Easterly winds challenged the best place to hang at this magnificent fishing based caravan park. Great staff and modest facilities.
