Such a quaint unassuming cafe. Had a delicious healthy, non fatty liver & salad lunch in a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. The owner, Andy, is very pleasant and cooks well.
Had the full English breakfast this morning and it was ruddy superb. Bacon - ten on ten, sausages - snap, fried egg - bingo. Fantastic use of a ramekin to avoid the egg mixing with the beans. If I wanted to mix the egg and beans that was my decision, I didn't even need to use the sausage as a breakwater. Erm, Minor criticism is I would have liked a splash of balsamic on my tomatoes, but I'm nitpicking. On the whole a very good effort, 9 on ten. I would eat that 3 times a day if I could...but I'd be dead it's the cholesterol, Scottish people eat it, few of them make 60
Very poor customer service-even worse food! I Ordered Spaghetti bolognese. It was cottage pie mince with chunks of carrots on spaghetti, Salty and not appetizing at all. I had two bites to be fair, took it to the staff who rudely said its fine and they will not do anything about it. I paid £5.50 for horrible food I did not eat! Avoid this place!! Golden Cafe Coffee Shop on Lordship lane- Better service and better food.
This place appears to be permanently closed now.. It never re-opened after Covid. A great shame, as it was a friendly family-run place and traditional greasy-spoon. Hope they're doing well.
Oleo - not butter Oily eggs Server and cashier on phone the entire time while taking my order Owner sitting at back door with door wide open and cigarette smoke wafting straight up my nostils - and I grew up with smokers I don't know how they managed it, but the whole breakfast had no flavour. Perhaps they did not use seasonings or it maybe it was the result of cheap ingredients. Added salt and pepper to help. It didn't. I understand that this is just a cheap cafe but I've had many good breakfast at cheap caffes.
The worst customer service ever first time going in there I ordered bacon and sausage baguette and a coffee to eat in I even had a pound in my change which I put in the tip jar thinking it'll be nice to compliment a place before eating.. anyways I wait over 30 mins for a takeaway coffee and baguette which was burnt and clearly uncooked and I pacifically said I was eating in I will never eat from here again these cafes are there own worst enemy because me and many others would eat daily from cafes so that should treat all customers with respect as without customers there's no business
Very nice food at great prices. The staff are also exceptionally friendly. Awesome cafe!
Nice food, kind staff.. Best greek and English breakfast in the town
Food is OK but its main attraction is as a friendly local place where you can feel at home.
Great breakfasts, friendly staff. All your needs catered for.
