Can’t go wrong with Drums, by far one of the best restaurants in the market. Everything is good but the lamprais is a great way to get a bit of everything and can be made veg or vegan. It’s great value for money and has a nice balance of textures and flavours.Recommended dishesLump Rice, Lampries
Absolutely delicious authentic food. My brother-in-law was Sri Lankan, and I have not eaten food like this for years. You can’t go wrong. Lots of options for vegetarians and vegans too. The photo is my half attacked lunch. Highly recommended!!!
One of the best Sri Lankan restaurant in Melbourne. Absolutely love the flavours. Nice and spicy
I just asked for a chicken kottu without egg, the chef seemed so confused. At the end he just a made a vege kottu. When I asked he just added chicken on top of it. Would never visit again. Fyi this is at qvm.
Generous servings, easy on the pocket and quick service. This is also one of my favorite place for teh tarik pulled tea and masala chai. Both teas are not too sweet, and has been "pulled" during the pouring process so that it is foamy and light. Masala chai is also full of ginger and cardamom flavour. I have heard of Kottu as being an iconic Sri Lankan dish - torn bread cooked with a variety of meat and vegetables. It looks like fried rice and taste delicious. The lamprais is a rice dish cooked in stock and served with meat and vegetable curry. Again delicious and generous.
My favourite place for lunch at Vic Market. Delicious Sri Lanka food. Generous serves. Friendly service. Lots of choice. Different combos to suit everyone.
Best butter chicken I have ever eaten!!! Flavourful and depth of spice with out being hot-spicy, delicious
Indian/ Sri Lankan restaurant. Tried their chicken Koththu roti which are cooked to order and curry buffet rice & curry. Food was above average, Koththu roti portion was big. Friendly staff. Restaurant is usually busy.
Really yummy! Enjoyed the masala goat, fish and chicken curry! Very reasonably priced too!
Was initially super excited to see a Sri Lankan spot at QVM. But was shocked at the awful customer service and rude staff. Even as a fellow Sri Lankan person the staff were not accommodating or kind. Can't imagine how they treat other customers. Looks like other south asians eating here have similar bad experiences. Traditional combo didn't even come with all the things listed on the menu. Food was mediocre at best. Disappointed and ashamed to see that this lackluster spot is how Sri Lankan culture is being represented in Victoria.
