Great place for a picnic, last section is gravel road, not the best conditions and small river crossing. Any AWD and 4WD will cross it easily, my unmodified Triton did it easy but low clearance cars, I won’t recommend.
Something different, packed with trails and a variety of flora. Sit back and relax in the shaded picnic area. Access is tricky as the road is narrow and unsealed. You need to cross a narrow creek to get to the Weir. Sign says “ Not recommended for 2 wheeled drives”, all cars in our ground made the crossing with ease. On a beautiful day like today your patience will be rewarded.
Rotunda has been rebuilt so good shade near the bbq. When driving to the weir you will need to cross a creek by car stick to the right side going there as it is only a couple of inches deep and a normal car cross it slowly. The creek in front of the weir is only good for a paddle and swimming is not possible. Grass areas for a run around. Starting point for some hikes such as 8km Mt. St Leonard and the end of the bicentennial trail. Nice place for a picnic withe family carpark is a short walk to the rotunda with plenty of shade. Clean drop toilets on site.
Picnic in the fabulous garden is really enjoyable
Great little spot for a family picnic. Bear in mind, that you may not be able to drive across the creek if you don't have a 4WD! 2WD can usually make it but depends on water flow. The river crossing is about 500m from the main weir so it's still a nice walk if you can't drive across.
Nice quiet spot close to Healseville. A mix of pine and native forest. Little stream you can cool off in. Picnic shelter with tables and BBQ. Basic toilets
It’s beautiful picnic place, small water creek Great for families with kids to enjoy natural fresh water and swim also good place for bbq
Great place with a decent time travel from city despite the little dusty road. Great picnic area.
Great little picnic spot with a shelter, toilets and gas bbq. There is a river crossing so low clearance vehicles may struggle.
Quite area but nice for a day's retreat from city. Surrounded by rainforest, there are picnic tables under cover, gas barbecue, and toilets. Also good hiking paths. Drive carefully to get there due to the road conditions.
