Absolutely love dining out, however Dome is a little overpriced for what they offer. The drinks we had were great for their price being iced/frappe type drinks, however the food itself was not up to our likings at that price. We ordered fish and chips & a parma, both were not full sized meals with the salad taking up the plate while the mains were almost half the portion of other restaurants. The salad ingredients were also very dry & the lemon for the fish was dry as well. We arrived & ordered before 12pm and our meals were out within 30 minutes, however the lunch rush doesn’t seem to have enough staff to cover the demand of people. Please note both photos are taken during the eating process, however the parma was only double that size & fish is advertised battered and we received crumbed. Will come back, but not in any rush.
I’m not the biggest fan of Dome. I find the menu overpriced for the size and quality of the portions. Generally run by young, inexperienced staff which shows in the customer service. Our food came out lukewarm, presumably it’s been sitting for some time. For the price, I’ll return to a beach front cafe in future.
Usually like Dome but this wasn’t the best experience. Food wasn’t warm at all The staff are all so young and not very friendly at all One girl asked us 4 times “Is this everything” trying to take the table number away The tables could do with a wipe down too. There is options to sit inside and outside And outside there is heaters too
Very welcoming. Very good food . The girls make you feel as if you are coming home. Prices reasonable. The Chef will come to your table to ask or the food was alright. Deserving respect for their hospitality.
I’m not sure that the term “ thick shake” is understood. I think it’s meant to mean twice the amount of ice cream for a set amount of milk. Where we’ve had a Thick Shake you absolutely have to have a bigger straw., I asked about my thick shake this evening. They took it away and brought it back - increased quantity but still as thin as a normal milk shake. Maybe they should try one at Coffee Club Warwick.
With Dome recently having upped their prices from "slightly high" to "unjustifiably high", one would expect at least a fair standard. My Vienna coffee was fine, except for the horrible aerated cream on top. However, the toast and preserve they served was terrible. The bread they'd used was sub-standard, and cut from a loaf that had obviously collapsed while still warm. I'd be embarrassed to serve toast like that to my family at home for a quick breakfast. As a $6.50 plate at a restaurant / diner, it was appalling. A mildly pleasant space is the only feature that saves them from a single star from me.
First of all, we ordered an apple juice, got given an orange juice. Then we ordered an avocado stack with bacon and they brought it out with salmon. Then we ordered the lot burger with no pickles and a fully cooked egg. The egg still had runny egg whites as well as yolk. We also ordered no salt on the chips and they were COATED in salt. Not good enough. I don’t pay for a service this expensive for you to not give me what I ask for.
Waited 30mins for a large chips, finally got them after asking what was taking so long, serving of chips was very small for what should have been a large, every other Dome I have been to has been great, unfortunately our experience at this one wasn't great, coffees still really good though
2 star for dishonest. I used to work at the fish shop, also fish and chip business, so I know which fish is it by look and tastes. I asked the girl, what kind of fish they use for fish and chip. If there isn't the one I like, I'll choose different meal. Yess! She told me it is " whiting". But when my meal come.... uhmm I haven't touched it yet but I knew it wasn't whiting... whiting body not that wide!... they might use bream instead which is not bad I thought... but no... one again when I tasted it, it is basa the worst fish for fish n chip... it was soggy, break by touching, the fat on the fish wasn't trim,make it have very strong fishy smell, batter wasn't crunchy from the frozen basa... Well, if you told me from the start, my weekend date out with my friend wasn't be that bad. I really feel embarrassed to invite her having lunch with you. Totally disappointed.
Although it was busy and today is Father's Day I can totally understand the wait for our food. But when your food comes out cold and your large chips comes out as if we ordered a small and cold I was not happy. I ordered salmon eggs hollandaise and it was small & I could not cut my bread...it was that tough the table was shaking. Add ons were not added on and had to wait for those as well. Gone down hill this place.
