Awesome place to let your dog run spastic, cats not so much due to the number of dogs. This section of beach has amenities within a short walk provided you're not busting for a poo in which case concider a doggy doo doo bag and find a quiiet spot in the dunes. The area pin pointed by Google here generally has pretty ordinary surf but parts along this stretch can have a decent wave from time to time.

I love Point Cartwright beach. Most of this long stretch of beautiful beach is off-leash dog-friendly, and due its size and tucked away location, it never feels busy. Even when there are others out there, it's a friendly, chilled out vibe. I live close to Caloundra but make a point of driving the extra 10 minutes to get to Point Cartwright.
