I absolutely love this place. After searching around for about a week, I stopped looking for my coffee hub when I had a Mokka here. Mark and Carola provide a service as professional and friendly as you can only ask for and the place is simply stunning. Highly recommend going inside and checking out the venue, it is wort a look! If you want a good, hands-on, quality coffee in a homely atmosphere this is your place. Just find out yourself!
Friendly staff, and both coffee and food were delicious. A breakfast smoothie in a bowl thats thick enough to eat with a spoon... Yes please!

My Dad and I were actually intending to go to a different cafe for coffee but liked the look of the exterior of this cafe better. As soon as we opened the door we were welcomed by an incredible aroma and fantastic staff. I had the cold drip and it did not disappoint in any way. There was no bitter aftertaste like many cold brews I have had before and staff definitely know their coffee beans. A must-stop for anyone in Melbourne looking for great coffee
What an amazing place!! I’ve always loved Dimattina coffee, however after visiting I have a new appreciation for the passion, enthusiasm and expertise that the staff exhibit there. Absolutely amazing place to go and try new blends of coffee, and get exceptional service there. Thank you so much to Laura and her staff for looking after us, we will be frequent vistors there!! If you are hesitant about visiting, I strongly urge you to reconsider, this is an absolutely phenomenal place. Can’t wait too see all the staff again :
Coffee is awesome, they even worked out a way to make the chai I order stronger... Could still be a bit stronger but they tried at least and I would order it again. Look forward to eating there one day too. The staff are the real stars here though. So knowledgeable' friendly and chatty. Laura, Mia and Italian accented girl are literally the best cafe staff around and such a great suppottive team. Just try and have a bad morning around them!
We called in to have coffee on our first morning at the Aussie open. We enjoyed some great coffee and delicious cinammon muffins. Just beaut spot to sit out in the morning sun and such friendly staff. Special thanks also to Laura when we got to our apartment it had no bread knife to cut some bread I had baked and brought over from NZ....I cheekily went back and explained our predicament...She kindly said please borrow our bread knife....Good on you Aussies.....Just lov em...
One of the best cafes in the area, and the best damn hot chocolate in South Melbourne! Really nice gourmet muffins and cakes as well. A little bit too hipster for my liking, but worth it if you can get past the neck-beards and berets.
If you are after a great cup of coffee in South Melbourne, Dimattina is your place. They aren't just a cafe, they are a tribute to the art of roasting and making your own coffee. Not only can you order a cup, get some tasty food from the window or menu, but you can also buy a huge assortment of coffee-making paraphernalia, and beans that are roasted right there on site! The staff are super friendly, and care about their customers, and more inoirtantly, their coffee. Don't let the flashier, hipster-clad places nearby fool you, Dimattina is the real deal!
