As recommended by Taiwanese friend to go there. Good service, good presentation but not my cup of tea. Long time haven't seen the trolley lady, they have tried their best to promote various food. The deep fried breadstick over cooked so a little bit bitter. The over all are so so.
Food of good quality, fast and efficient service, a hidden gem in the local neighbourhood. Place is a little bit too small to see the “angry & loud trolley lady” experience but still a great alternative to enjoy an authentic yum cha experience. 2nd time visited the place as a walk-in no booking. Owner went over and above to give us a table despite being on a busy Saturday lunch time.
Overrated Sub par Wonton Noodle Soup - Noodles: Good chewiness, but clumped together see photos, slightly off - Soup: Not bad, but not quite right - Wontons: Tiny, mostly skin, hard to taste the prawn - Vegetables: Best part of the dish, but slightly overcooked soft Siomai - Tasted decent, but seemed like they were microwaved since they were quite soggy/soft and a little small. Seemed more like dumplings you’d have in your freezer at home. Overall, not the worse, but wouldn’t go back
It looked busy and some staff doesn't seem to know what to do while others were friendly. Food was not fantastic. Prawn dumpling and siew mai's skin were really thick. Siew mai was really small too. Chicken feet and beef tendon tasted like satay. BBQ pork in rice noodle zhu chang fen - the pork was dry and hard and the rice noodle wrap was too sticky and lacks texture. Each dish was also quite costly - I personally don't think it's worth the cost.
Friendly service, great food and affordable! Everything that you would expect to have are here. Pretty busy during lunch time might be a good idea to make a booking first. The crispy bread wrapped with rice rolls are to die for!
Three of us went there for lunch on Sunday. We booked at 11:00am. There are already some big groups sitting We had 7 small dishes and 2 big dishes. They served quite quick Their dim sum is homemade??? They are very nice We went to some Chinese restaurant for Yum cha. This place is the best reasonable price Yum cha so far I recommend to make a booking when you go there
Always very busy on the weekends but consistently serves up authentic yum cha.
Visitor to the Gold Coast and was keen to try yum cha. Service was friendly and place was clean, but the food was not great and it was really expensive. Only had a few dishes - kept being offered the same ones and then told we had to specifically order if we wanted others like spring rolls. The calamari was 95% batter and 5% calamari. Pork belly was way over cooked. Cost $70 for two - a much higher quality yum cha in NZ would be no more than $50 for two.
OK, so I ordered 1 soup but the staff here served two soups, and I said I didn't order this one, she said I did, OK, we took that one as well, but later they served Mapo Tofu which is not Mapo Tofu, as I'm Chinese I know what is Mapo Tofu, and they are too slow, we've waited for ages to get 3 dishes all served. Never come here again. Can you tell the picture below is Mapo Tofu?! Can't believe it.
This is one of the worst yumcha on the gold coast bar none. The hygiene of this restaurant is terrible. You can clearly see the grease in the bowl...can't understand why such utensils are on the table. And while you are using the dishes they will often appear with the kitchen to prepare an excessive amount of dishes and ask if you need it. I ordered a dim sum, beef tenderloin, ribs and lychee ice cream which cost $40. The ice cream was very cheap tasting...and the wait was 20 minutes. I will never go back a second time.
