Do not come to this gym. The male facilities are so disgusting and so not to health standards. Let alone the gym cleanliness. The gym has a thick layer of dust on every machine, from dust to sweat to god knows what, and yet the staff do nothing about it. I have complained multiple times even emailed and no response no action.nnThe dust in the gym I can understand to a point, but the male change rooms and toilets are actually a joke.nnThe constant smell of urine and shit, is so unbearable the showers are so disgusting from the smell of actually poo and hair bandaids and underwear left in the shower block. The grim on the floor and walls is so thick that it’s green and actual slimy! It’s by far the worst I have ever seen. A bandaid has been in the shower floor for 6 days now and staff were notified.nnThe toilets are so disgusting as well with shit stains and a urine stain so thick it’s brown yet still staff do not clean it.nnNow we move onto the sauna, which is disgusting. The thermostat is hanging off the wall for its life, the floor is covered in black grime, the wooden benches have a thick layer of sweat and black grime its gross.nnThe sinks and basin is disgusting from cracks breaks poor silicon jobs and just dirt it makes you not want to wash your hands, even the hand dryer is covered in grime and black sludge from never being wiped down and cleaned the wall has clear stains and outlines.nnNow for a 24 hour staffed gym I have never seen a lack of care from staff. Weights are all over the gym left in corners plates in walkways it’s actually a joke.nnI have been in the industry for a long time, and I understand a lot of responsibility is to on its patrons to use it correctly and put the weights away and to wipe down machines when finished, but this is beyond that. Derrimut has a duty of care to keep and uphold sanitary standards and health standards to keep their gym clean. Please do better I cannot stand this and I’m sure I’m not the only one.nnI beg for you to shut the gym for 1 day and just give it a deep clean, a full bio clean that it needs. Take the time and make the gym great again. PleasennThis review was months ago! I got back from a holiday today first session back and this is the state of the gym absolutely disgusting!!!
So dirty and smelly… Sweat everywhere in the equipments. It is extremely unlikely that you will get tissue to clean before and after your workout. You will not even get it from the front desk as well. You will hopefully catch allergic and skin disease if you continue here. Cheaper membership makes it so crowded but absolutely no hygiene… you will regret if you go to the toilets, bathrooms and sauna… they are barely cleaned.
I highly regret getting a year membership at the oakleigh location as the male bathroom/ changeroom is horrendous. It is barely cleaned as the floor is extremely slippery on entry and of the 26 lockers, 10 of them have had their doors completely ripped off and 3 of the lockers with doors have broken locks.nnThis makes at least half of their lockers unusable.nnI have spoken with reception about this and they noted this issue before when only 4 doors were ripped off to head office derimut months ago yet they have not heard anything and are not allowed to act without head office authorisation, leaving the reception staff to bear all of theirs customers wrath unjustly.nnI left this complaint to head office directly 3 weeks ago and not only have they not responded but in the meantime 2 more locker doors have been ripped off.nnAt any given time 2-3 treadmills are always out of order and apparently reception is powerless to resolve any of these issues either relating to customer satisfaction of using the resources you pay for or safety in having a locked place to store your valuables such as car keys.nnI can only imagine this is due to derimut not caring about their customers at all and making large profits while some customers are driven away from this gym due to the absolute lack of maintenance and support and head office sit back and rake in the free cash.nnPlease consider any other gym before going to derimut oakleigh.
If you were joining for pilates, please dont waste your money. There is no classes for the next 2 months and even before that there were like 3 classes per day classes that you can not get a spot in if you wake up 5 mins later than when the classes book time starts which is 5am nSo yeah i would say just go somewhere else tbh. I deeply regret paying for the 12 months
Very Cheap, Has an awesome 24/7 Sauna . Best equipment , yes it can get busy between 5 to 9pm, But its worth it, you pay 6-10 times less yearly than any other gym. At one Point they had a 99$ a year membership . Issue's to be aware of, can get quite messy in Men's change room and sauna is not cleaned well enough.
