My doctor, to whom I am very grateful, was fantastic: decent, affable, timely and competent.nBut at payment, afterward, am informed for first time by staff that a there is a 5% “Practice Administration Fee”, b it must be paid separately. Twice the paperwork, twice the time including waste of my time, up against parking limitations. why? Also, where’s the contractual consent? Answer: there was none.nWho owns this business? Since when do doctors charge separately for their practice costs? They are called “overheads”, the cost of which is already factored into charges.nAnd it’s 5% on everything, but not shown on the Medicare bill and receipt. Why “on the side”?nIf it was built into the one bill, it might not be so bad. The method seems opportunistic and irregular.
I had an appointment here recenty after waiting 6 months for the appointment, plus time waiting for triaging.nI had 3 issues to discuss with the dermatologist i was allocated. When i got in i was asked what was priority as she only allows 15 minutes for initial appointment.nShe did a very rough skin check, rushing and smissing spots i was hoping to discuss further.nI had 3 spots zapped with with cryotherapy and i asked for an appoi tmwnt to come back to have a couple of moles removed. She discouraged the idea because of the wait times. As i left i asked if i could rebook for more crotherapy with her as the dermatologist said id need a few goes to get rid of the spots. The receptionist said that would take a further 7 months!!!! The recommendation i was given was to go to my GP. After working in the medical field myself, i found this service appalling and a big waste of time and money. I couldnt fulfill my referral and will need to now find someone else and start this whole process again. Id hate to think if i had something cancerous that needed attention what the process would be!!! Do not waste $250 on a 15 minute rushed appointment that does not even complete why you are going there...disgusting. i dont know how they think they can get away with this without bad reviews. I should have looked here before sending my referral there.
After waiting 3 months for my daughter to see Dr Gupta she wasn’t asked any questions to understand her skin type, previously tried medication, just wrote a script and then said she didn’t have any time to discuss the other important skin issue. At $240 for a rediculously short and rushed consult. Very disappointed.
The receptionist girl Jess sighed over the phone loudly with attitude when I was trying to book an appointment then she gave attitude, then put me on hold and it hung up. Currently waiting 20 minutes and counting in the queue to speak to a receptionist. Why rock up to work if you’re going to act like that?
Just rung Dermatology SA to enquire about a faxed referral by my GP.nA very short wait to be connected to reception and can not fault the response I was given.nThe receptionist was very friendly and approachable and sympathetic to my call and condition. Due to the wait to see my nominated dermatologist I had been triaged to another who also specialises in treating my condition.n5 star service. Thank you
