Friendly staff and thoughtful care. I've been with this Dentist for a longtime after disappointing care experience with many others in Longmont. Highly you recommend you give Dental Horizons a chance and you will not be disappointed. They are affordable too. Thus is important to mention by the way.
I recently had an appointment for preparing a tooth for a crown.I was told it usually takes about 1 1/2 hrs. Mine took close to 3 hrs. I told Dr. Kelson that previously his dental hygienist had injected lidocaine to prepare for deep cleaning. She made 3 injections and they were extremely painful. I did not think I would ever return there for more treatments as I had never experienced pain with the injections before. Well, I did return anyway. Dr. K prepared me for the lidocaine injections by numbing the areas first. I had no pain what so ever . I had great difficulty breathing once he got started with the drilling. Never experienced that before. He and his assistant were extremely patient with me and stopped each time I raised my left hand to signal I needed to take a breath. Three hours later it was all finished. I felt very embarrassed that I caused it to take twice as long as I was told. I finally figured out that my recent diagnosis of covid lungs damage had made it impossible for me to take the deep breaths that I had always been able to do prior to being sick with covid. There must be a great many people with a diagnosis of covid lungs. If you require dental care I highly recommend Dr. Kelson and his staff. From the moment you enter his office to sitting in the dental chair and being treated by dental assistants and him you are in great caring hands. I don't have dental insurance and Dr. Kelson provides you with his dental insurance plan that is helpful. PS. The dental hygienist that caused me terrible pain when injecting the lidocaine during my first appointment no longer works there. Annette Rasmussen
They told me that my wife and I have alot of work but it's OK ur insurance is great and gonna pay for everything. let's get to work!...., they crack a crown that my wife already had. After some work was done on both of us low and behold we get $2500.00 plus Bill that WE now have to pay because no that was a quote..... all this guy wants is your money don't get anything done here unless u want to feel it in your mouth for a few weeks then feel it in ur wallet. Rudest Dentist I have ever met!! I feel bad for the assistants...
I've always been scared of the dentist, always needing a second round of numbing shots to get me numb so I always ask for nitrous. I am new to Dental Horizons about 6 months ago. I just had a filling replaced and prep work and temporary crown placed. They had me numb with first round of shots, gave me a bite block to keep my mouth open for me and relaxed enough with the nitrous that I actually fell asleep while the worked. I must say that's a first.
My family has been going to Dr. Kelson and Dental Horizons for years. He is an excellent dentist and his staff is top notch. I highly recommend this practice to anyone. Dr. Kelson is a leading edge expert on how an underdeveloped jaw can cause many other problems. I have become educated on this and have now embarked on an advanced treatment for my many issues related to this - e.g. TMJ, headaches, earaches, sinus troubles, sleep apnea. I am grateful to Dr. Kelson for opening up a whole new avenue to better health.
Dr. Kelson and the team are all great people who work hard to provide exceptional care for the patients. We drive an hour to see them because we know we'll be well taken care of. We love how the team stays on the cutting edge of technology and treatment options. Today we saw one of the hygienists, Lisa, and she was so great! She really listens and doesn't make you feel bad if your dental hygiene isn't as good as it could be. She helps you find practical ways to take better care of your teeth and gums. My dental experiences are always great at Dental Horizons!

Dr. Kelson and the staff at Dental Horizon have always been very professional, polite and friendly. There is no question or concern they will not address even with picky patients like me. On my last dental work they over exceeded my expectations and for that I'm very thankful and grateful for the outstanding work they did. Always great attitude and excellent service. Thank you.
