Very conveniently located at the busy intersection of Summer Hill & close to the village of shops, this small but lovely cafe with a big garden outdoor seating area is quiet, relaxed with an old school charm to it. The menu is extensive and there is a range of dishes for any time of the day. On this occasion for breakfast, I got the vegetarian big breakfast which had a good selection of items & cooked well & simply. The presentation & simplicity feels dated but ir was enjoyable. Coffee was fine. Sitting in the garden was nice & staff are very friendly. Perhaps better for lunch or dinner as some of the items sound good especially the sweet crepes.
Amazing little place especially the courtyard seating. Very friendly staff and service. Coffee was great as well. However the food was disappointing and average at best. Or else it’d be 5 stars for sure!
Service attentive but food was average. Went for brunch, and ordered a croque madame and big breakfast. Croque Madame was a sandwich on what seemed like 80c/loaf white bread from the supermarket. Big breakfast okay, but sausage was the extremely processed type that I'd expect to see at Bunnings. Side of haloumi was disappointing - $4 for 4 thin, small pieces.
Absolutely gorgeous little cafe. Beautiful music, incredible scenery, warm and cozy but with the right amount of space so we didn’t feel clustered. The staff asked us how we were doing and when seating us, they were very attentive. Not only is the scenery relaxing, but the coffee was absolutely incredible. We are from Canberra and the coffee there is usually awesome at most places but I’ve almost never had a coffee that’s made me feel so refreshed before, and I put that down to the quality and craftsmanship. I recommend this place to everyone, you won’t be disappointed visiting and dining here.
The savory crepe is a tad too sweet for my liking. Sweet chicken is just not my thing. The pancakes tasted stale overnight pancakes that been microwaved the next day and the chocolate they used tasted very artificial. it's pretty expensive for what it is as the portion size is quite small. Service is pretty decent through.
The courtyard was cute and the staff were very friendly.
Great service and average coffee. Worst basic breakfast ive had in years. Eggs ordered poached where completely solid. Food was almost cold and mushy. $20 for microwave left overs. I would consider a smaller menu with the kitchen aiming for quality.
Such a shame as this place has great potential. Coffee is good, the staff are lovely and friendly but the food is terrible. Very slow to get to the table and not worth the wait. Bad presentation, tasteless and overcooked eggs. Undercooked bacon, toast and hash browns. I was given a discount when I told staff I was pretty unhappy which again shows how lovely they are. Given the many quality cafes in Summer Hill there are many better options until they sort the kitchen out.
Cute lil cafe and a lovely courtyard. Very welcoming and friendly staff. The coffee was one of the best ive had however I ordered a $21 rump steak medium rare but the meat was small, tough and well done. My friend also ordered a roast potato but it came out boiled. Just was really overpriced for its quality IMO
Definitely food and coffee can improve. Ok let me elaborate... As an cafe expert, I can say the big breakfast was an absolute joke, so basic and simple and you still managed to consistently screw it up see other people's reviews. How to start... bacon was soggy and tasteless, same as the hash browns, toast was cold, the few mushrooms on the side were mainly raw, the rump steak my friend ordered was overcooked and utterly a disgrace. The coffee was average to be generous. Service was ok although we were rushed to order. Worst of all you have no idea how to take feedback or to have presence in social media again see other people's comments I'm all for small business but this cafe seem to have a really bad management problem. On the positive side, location is good if you live nearby. And the decor is nice and cosy...
