Only good thing about my meal was the chips, they were frozen. Burger was drenched in sauce, cold, and inedible. I ordered an iced chocolate and received an iced coffee and when I sent it back to the manager she was rude, and acted as if the mishap was on my behalf. Paid for chips and didn’t receive them, so I had to chase them up. Wrong orders kept getting sent to our table multiple times. Overall, poor service and management, and below average food. Would not recommend. I saw an image of the supposed ice chocolate and it was not what mine came out like. It was a blob of ice cream sitting in full cream milk I order lactose free with minimal chocolate sauce. Not worth $6.50.
Usually the chips have been great. For a couple of years we called by to grab a large family chips. But on this occasion we ordered an extra large amount to feed 2 families. On opening the boxes we were surprised to find that both boxes were only half full. Literally could have tipped one into the other and you may have got "one" box of chips. Secondly they were mostly chips that had been refried to the point where they were over cooked dark and very dry. Again, no exaggeration! So we called them back to express our disappointment no swearimg no yelling just a simple request to see if we could get a fresh batch but we received no attempt to foster good business by ensuring complete customer satisfaction nor any offer to replace the food with their usual higher standard. We drove back into town to show how disappointing the chips were only to have them refuse to cook a fresh batch and over react to our request. Very sorry, as they usually are lovely folk with great food. But the service on this day was extremely disappointing. We wont be going back there any more. So with 2 hungry families waiting at home we had to source a big feed elsewhere.
Decided to try these guys again as they are the only ones that do fish n chips in Dayboro other than the IGA. Last year we waited 2 hours for a couple of burgers so haven't used them for a year. Today we ordered 2 daggy dogs, a pineapple fritter and small chips. Half an hour later this is what we got. Not sure what happened to the missing daggy dog or the poor, burnt offering that is supposed to be a pineapple fritter. Clearly things have not improved, such a shame.
The only good thing about this cafe is the cola that isn’t there’s. The service was poor. The wrong order was brought to our table multiple times and I sat there for a long time . When I finally received my order after a 40 minute wait the food was below average. There are many other cafes in Dayboro that I would highly recommend and this cafe isn’t one of them.
Came in on Sunday night to grab something quick for my fiancé and me, was greeted by the most heart warming smile by this young cashier, i believe her name was Ella. She was so helpful and kind, such a loving soul and was able to get me the most delicious fish n chips I've had for a while. Definitely recommend, extra tip= ask for Ella
I will start by saying that the service was lovely. The fella who served me was polite and patient when I was asking questions. His customer service was exceptional. I will however, now comment on the food. As, let's be honest, that's why we were there. The WORST food we have ever attempted to eat. I use the word 'attempted' as it was something we couldn't actually accomplish. We just spent over $100 on fish, chips, prawn cutlets, whiting pieces, calamari and seafood bites. The only actual part we could stomach was approximately $5 worth of chips and the tartare sauce. Everything was so severely burnt you couldn't tell what half of it was. I am a firm believer that if you dont write good reviews for good service/food for a business, then you shouldnt write bad ones either. But this was our first time here, so I have nothing to compare it with. I really hope that your food standards come up a few notches, as awesome customer service shouldn't be wasted on terrible food.
Visited the cafe on Friday 30 Dec around midday and ordered a Short Black, double shot. Pretty simple order. The owner rudely told me to go and wait outside. I waited probably over 20 minutes, and when I got my coffee, we went and sat in the park, and when I took the lid off there was milk and froth in the coffee - more like a Piccolo. I took it back and explained to the owner that I had ordered a short black, double shot and she pretty much came across that I was not telling the truth. I dont drink milk and cant drink milk so would never have ordered this! She said its lactose free milk! I dont drink milk was my reply. She then proceeded to confer with one of the staff and said that was definately what I had ordered. How does a short black, double shot become a Piccolo! she was so rude, and basically relucantly made my correct coffee and still made me wait. Wasnt worth the wait. We went across the road to the Bookshop cafe with lovely staff who were more than helpful and great customer service, and they were super busy and still had a smile. We wont be back next time we visit Dayboro.
First time to this cute little cafe.. the service was fast, and friendly with very down to earth staff. The salmon and salad was very fresh and served exactly how I like it, and the chips was nice and crispy. My friend ordered the work's burger and chips and she loved it! And the chicken nuggets and chips for the kid was also very decent quality. The prices was good, and there is an outside sitting area with a small kids zone. I would totally recommend this place :
Popped in for coffee as i was travelling thru, & of course i had heard about their interesting tasty range of cakes. The coffee asked for extra shot & cake was great. The team were friendly, helpful and the place had a sparkly clean feel about it. Conclusion Will definitely be back for more coffee & cake
I went to this cafe, as a coeliac, and was blown away with how amazing they handled my deadly disease, i had a lovely young man, i believe his name was Jamie, and he was such a happy chap, and i wasn’t sick from my food! Will definitely be telling my friends about this delicacy!!! Dietary restrictions: GLUTEN FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
