Been to Davis Auto on several occasions and will continue to use. Friendly staff, all very experienced and very affordable prices. They don’t muck around and kept me fully informed of what needed to be fixed. Great to have people that actually know what they are doing in a time of need. Even offer free battery checks- can’t get much better than that
Im a traveller in nz for the past 2 month. Got very good service till now from most of the business i've been. But today it was diffrent. I came with a battery problem and They agree that i will come immediately and they will give me a price offer and a service. i was glad for that. The owner was impatience from the first moment, and when i try to talk about the price it became even worst. I think that this was my worst interaction with a man for a long time, and i regret that i got today to this place.
The keyless entry of my car is not working so I just called in advance to see if they have got any solutions. The lady on the phone told me that they would only charge me if there are anything fixed and would told me in advance. I brought the car to the shop and the man asked me to leave the car there as they didn’t have time just at that moment. Two phone calls were made to me: the first one asked for further info of the fault; the other one they called me about the suspected fault and told me to come back to the shop around an hour later. End up I got charged $190 for an inspection no panels been pulled out - less than two hours, a battery and a OBD code readout without telling me in advance. I didn’t have a choice and paid for it. Afterwards I came back and wanted to discuss further and suggested they should have told me in advance, the old man I suspect the owner was extremely rude and said I should expect a inspection fee, saying no free lunch on the world, and asked me to leave. I didn’t even ask for a refund at all and just wanted to know more and make suggestions. It was a very unpleasant experience and unreasonable priced service $190. I understand I have to pay for the work but the way they treat customer is totally unacceptable. The man didn’t even try to reason with me politely the second time I came in. Would not recommend anyone to go there for any service at all. Worst service I have experienced in the whole New Zealand.
My wife just called past with a suspected dodgy battery - fixed on the spot! While driving out Logan noticed a rear brake light bulb not working and sorted that out too! Awesome service - Thanks!
Been living in QT over a year now and am fully aware of not only the cost of living being expensive but everything else is. This was not the case with these guys however. From start to finish they were in constant communication with me and clearly knew what they were doing. Prices and customer service were excellent. Highly recommend these guys
Fairly disappointing experience today. Responding to their website I went to their Queenstown branch. Hard to find but the sign on the ground stood on its side gave me some indication I was in the right place. The staff member didnt seem to want to deal with me. When i started talking to him about car stereos he dismissed me saying "we dont do car stereos any more". Well, your website says you do....and I made a special trip....Do what you say you do or dont say it!
Friendly Fast Fabulous After my friend parked her car, he quickly fixed the radio and lighter. Then the unfortunate thing happened: a truck hit the side of her car... Being as friendly as humanly possible he gave away this quick repair for free. Such a nice guy. If you read this: again, thank you so much!!!
Mr Davis Auto Electrical managed to solve a problem on our vintage caravan that otherwise seemed unsolvable. His experience and tenacity really came into play. I'd go back in a heartbeat with any auto electrical problems!
Had a problem with alternator which was rewired and sorted , a few weeks later it played up again and these guys at extra cost to them replaced the whole unit ...this is a business that provides great service and no nonsense follow through definitely recommend them
