The lady at reception Natalie or Natalia has an attitude. Not a single smile or a ‘how are you’. I don’t know if she’s having a bad day or she just thinks she’s better than everyone but it’s not that hard to pretend to be nice. Had to take my pants off for the x-ray and it was uncomfortable and the gentleman doing the x-ray didnt do or say anything to help ease my mind except “oh well you have underwear on don’t you”.nDefinitely go to a different location if you’re expecting decent customer service or niceness of any kind.
Initial dealings OK reception. Appointment called on time. End of good news - surly and unfriendly person did ultrasounds. No communication on what was being done and rough as well as questionable process. Was told to take a deep breath and hold it for excessively long periods - to the extent that I was panting on being ‘allowed’ to breathe normally. This gives me no confidence that the procedure will be of any value if the results are treated in the same dismissive way that I was. In fact, I cancelled my follow up appointment with my doctor since I do not feel that the report from such an examination will be of any value whatsoever. I definitely will not be returning for a repeat performance.
This practice have declined to accept referrals from GP registrars. In doing this, the management team have caused a major inconvenience to all involved. Im curious if darling downs radiology are happy to fund the extra 5-10 minutes of GP consultant time that will be required, in between their already over-booked list, to sign off a registrar request after going through a clinical presentation & then either logging into the patient chart themselves to sign a form, or print one off & have it signed & then fax it. This may seem little to those not in the know, but GP's, & the practice, only earn money based on billing the patient so the extra time has to be billed. Say 15 people need imaging requests from a registrar this very quickly becomes an extra 2 hours work.nnThe only way to compensate for this unecessary time burden brought about by darling downs radiology on the practice's income is to make the PATIENT PAY MORE. So the patient will wait longer, not have as many appointment availabilities & pay more. I can only assume DDR didnt consider this wholistically at all or, as mentioned, have no idea how GP works. Most general practices are struggling to stay afloat with the current billing environment & poor medicare funding, so this will have to happen if you want your GP to stay. They don't have a choice.nnNoting the hospital system doesnt follow this process for registrars at all, im curious what DDR could possibly base this decision on. This also shows absolutely no support for the GP training program, something that is already struggling with lacking trainees, & adds financial burden to general practice as a whole, which is seriously underfunded by medicare.nnFrom the patient perspective, It's hard enough getting in to see a GP, let alone getting a timely referral for imaging for investigation. This will only delay this further. Very dissapointed in this decision- I strongly urge darling downs radiology to take this back. I'd advise GP's refer elsewhere in the interim, its just not good enough we support poor decisions like this.nnEdit: seeing as it wont let me reply to the comment below i will edit instead. then why has a memo been sent out to practices in warwick advising you wont be accepting gp registrar referrals? If i am mistaken i will remove this reveiw, but local practices have been directed otherwise by your team.nn2nd edit 14/5/24: This has yet to be rectified with local warwick practices so my review will remain 1 star. I would appreciate an email to warwick gp practice managers if this is truly not the case as a member of darling downs radiology practice has has notified warwick general practices they are declining all gp registrar referrals, & they have not yet been told otherwise. Once this is clarified i am happy to remove this.
The staff were friendly and helpful. I don't have to wait for a long time to do the scan.
Went here for a morphology scan and the sonographer didn't even ask or acknowledge if we wanted to know the gender of our baby. Didn't take any photos. Sonographer was to incompetent to do her job correctly.
