Thank you very much to Nick from the Dan Murphy’s, Norwood who promptly assisted me today with a problem I had with a higher end bottle of red wine that I attempted to cork last night.nAfter explaining the situation and story behind the wine, he immediately found a replacement with a smile. Came in to buy a gift for a friend's 50th and received excellent service. Genuine considerate advice. I didn't catch the staff members name but this store will be my regular moving forward.

I'm used to Dan Murphy shops being a little bigger than this one. The Jim Barry Reisling I prefer is not sold here and the Merlot I like is also missing. The staff are friendly and happy to recommend something similar which was helpful but I really like my favourites.

Dans has a good range of whisky and I usually make them my first destination when I am ready to stock up. Today when I went to purchase two premium bottles of scotch at around $240 I asked the guy at the checkout  if he could  do a price match with another liquor retailer, I just said ‘mate are you able to price match these bottles?’ From that one simple question I got what came across as a guilt trip and then got a lecture about how he doesn’t need to price match as the other business liquorland is apparently clearing out their premium whisky range. The experience was strange, embarrassing and definitely unexpected. It’s your business so either you can price match or you can’t. If you can’t, that’s ok, just say you can’t. If you can, then say yes and take the money and process the order. What isn’t ok is making the customer feel like you are doing them a huge personal favour and that they have put you out and upset you for asking the question. In the past the staff here have been very happy to match prices and take my business. From now on I will just go to the other mob first and avoid the guilt trip. Quick way to lose a customer that spends thousands business and personal per year at Dans.

Worst experience ever tonight!!! Me and my friend want to have a wine tasting as there was a label saying we could taste for specific wine. Then we kindly asked the lady and she said there was no bottle open right now so she could not let us have a tasting. What do you mean? If there was no new bottle open then you should open a new one for the clients, which was your job. Or do you mean you only open the tasting bottle for specific clients and we were not worthy? That is so RACIST.
