Prices and variety I could not complain about but service is disgraceful. Whilst browsing a worker came up to me asking if I need a hand to buy something and I replied no thank you just looking at the moment which was perfectly fine. He then pretended to straighten up some bottles so I took $100 out of my bag and held it in my hand in plain view so I wouldn't get looked at like I was stealing. He stayed beside me then another worker joined the party and still in clear view my money. He asks the same question to which I replied the same as before. Another 2 workers now start to approach me so I ring my grandmother who I was browsing for a birthday present for and tell her I'm sorry but I am just going to give her money as I'm no longer shopping here. I line up at the register so I can show my bags still holding the money in my hand and I leave. I watch from outside the store the worker leave the store to the security guard and point at me. To any one that can go else where do it.
How can you not love Dan Murphy? It’s got such a range of alcohol from all over the world and it’s great to see old favourites on the shelves from time to time that are hard to find in regular bottle shops. Great to have at Chermside Westfield. Easy parking upstairs most days. Hope they stay around for a long time! Staff seem keen to help and all the ones I have been served by have enjoyed knowing a bit more than usual about particular alcohol options. I enjoy the range and variety! Well done.
Apart from pricing, this review relates to staff and customer service. Late on Sunday 30th we visited DM Chermside and sought help. The tallish young lady was extremely helpful in our choosing a gift. She fully explained the differences, single, double malt and those also in the cheaper varieties. We made a choice and then thanked her for her assistance. A real "asset" to DM, Chermside outlet is this lady, going way beyond expectations.
Usual wide range of Wines, Beers, and liquors. I discovered that Hardy's cask wine is about $3 cheaper here than at other Liquor stores. Here too, I discovered a new wine to me, which in fact, is one of the oldest. TEMPERANILLO -- the fourth-most planted variety in the world is considered one of the nine red noble grapes. Tempranillo is one of the top varieties blended into Port wine from Portugal, where it’s called Tinta Roriz. Its flavour described as a combination of " the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon and meaty nature of Carignan" french medium red «food» wine, it sounds wonderful. I also found a Wolf Blass Cabernet Sauvignon "House of the Dragon" with a fabulous label

Always a good shopping experience for me. Staff helpful and often make good recommendations.
It's been nine years since I've had to strongly consider buying alcohol with somebody else's ID, however the customer service and common sense of this Dan Murphy's employees have greatly been stained by the bureaucratic enforcement of certain liquor laws; to the point that it greatly inconveniences those who these particular laws aren't made to inhibit and who instead wants to enjoy a six pack of Great Northern Originals in the comfort of their own home. In fact, the security guard that works the often busier nights of the week is the soul source of fair judgement who greets his familar customers with a casual nod and wink. I rate that guard and I appreciate our mutual respect. The BWS at the opposite end of Westfield might now expect to see my face more often, although at my inconvenience due to the longer walk from my apartment, it is worth it for the compliments on my moustache and the happy-go-lucky character that works there.
Great selection and prices. But some shelves are really filthy and store manager clearly doesn’t care. Photos taken 29 July 2020.
Was asked for ID even though I'm a 35 year old man covered in tattoos. Maybe train your staff better.
