This used to be a pleasant restaurant with an imaginative menu serving nice, healthy meals but no more. By way of example, my 'Salad Nicoise' comprised 8 blanched beans, 4 olives, 2 cherry tomatoes, 3 new potatoes cut in half and a large piece of barramundi. No lettuce leaves, no hard boiled egg, no capers, no anchovies and way too much barra. $36 My friend had the omelette with a side salad - the omelette was okay but the side salad was mainly tomato and red onion, drowning in dressing. There were several interesting options in their from the grill section, however, all were served with mashed potato and beans. There was a second menu available through the cafe which was 100% pasta dishes. NONE of the options on either menu were healthy or well balanced. The restaurant looked dreadful - half the tables had not been set and did not have chairs. The waiter kept calling us guys - ladies would have been preferable - and the service was so poor that eventually I had to get up and get my own refill of tea.
It was unfortunate the all the othet girls for what ever reason did not come. Although I waited @ 12.15 I gave up & ordered for myself. The battered prawns were really great & the vegetable as well. The understood I had no control about the lack of turn up.
I had a beautiful lunch with my family today. The suggestive staff offered the Rose Garden tables outside, which were wonderful. The roses are amazing and the weather just made everything perfect! A huge shout out to the staff, they could not have been any more accommodating and the food was just as good as last time! Consistency is key!!! Keep it up guys!!
Every time we visit, the team treat us exceptionally well. The food continues to exceed our expectations. I recommend here to anyone who wishes to have a magnificent dining experience.
Only lived around the corner of this place for the last seven years and finally decided to go for lunch. What a pleasant surprise, the place is lovely and the staff are impeccable in their service as well as making you feel important. The food was good, I had the shepherd's pie which was presented lovely, the only thing it lacked was a bit more seasoning and unfortunately the salad was not as fresh as it could have been. My friend had the whiting which came with chips and salad and he loved every mouthful. The prices here are great and affordable. This is a place I would definitely return to.
I like this place, the Restaurant and the associated Hudsons. I sometimes pop in here when I am up in town for a quiet coffee and muffin, or a full meal. Its a gentle, quiet space. Always enough people about to be interesting, but not frenetic. Comfortable lounge style seating looking out on the manicured garden space - sometimes there is a piano player - sometimes an exhibition. Just a gentle relaxing space to escape and catch your breath. A change of Chef I believe but still the same delicious food and gently atmosphere.
Top spot to hear your conversation! Quiet and comfortable. “Hudson’s “ has gone so Damien’s delicious cafe food now made in house. Very good coffee and tempting cakes and pastries. Must try sausage rolls! The adjoining restaurant “Damien on Fisher” is a frequent choice for us..... fresh tasty well priced dishes and interesting weekly specials. Lovely to sit in the rose garden and be warmed in the evenings by the toasty gas fires! Consistently very good with caring staff and attentive service.
Been here several times. Always enjoyed. Remembered by management & staff. Great surroundings, decor & art. Good for families. Lovely ppl.. Good service, great food.. Well looked after. Enjoy!
We went for dinner last week with friends and had a wonderfull evening. The food was as good as any and we had full table service in the restaurant. If you haven't been ,it is well worth seeking out
