I’ve visited this little roadside café several times now, and it has become one of my regular brunch spots. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy-going, perfect for sitting down and enjoying a slow breakfast. I also really appreciate that they provide water bowls for dogs. It’s a thoughtful touch and makes it even nicer if you’re coming with your furry companionnn DAARK Hash BenedictnBeautifully presented with clean, simple flavours. You can swap the halloumi for bacon or salmon, which gives you flexibility. The portion is just right if you don’t want something too heavy.nn DAARK Big BrekkynA generous breakfast plate, ideal when you’re very hungry. It offers a good variety and feels well balancednn Smoked Salmon & Feta CroquettesnThe rocket was nicely crisp, and the crushed pistachio added a lovely layer of texture. One of my favouritesnn Pistachio Matcha LattenThe matcha flavour is rich and full-bodied, and the pistachio gives it a unique twist. Definitely my favourite drink herennOverallit’s a great place whether you’re coming with family, friends, your partner, or even on your own. The setting feels calm and welcoming.As the café is close to a more natural area, there can occasionally be flies if you’re seated outside. If that’s a concern, sitting indoors would be more comfortable.nnA small suggestion: over several visits, the bacon has consistently been overcooked, slightly dry, and at times a bit difficult to chew. If this could be improved next time, the experience would be even better
The food was tasty and the coffee was executed well. There are a couple of things that can be better.n- poached egg can be more runny. Unsure if it is Gold Coast thing or not similar to all other well known cafes around the region, the poached egg is always a bit more cooked. My expectation for a poached egg is for the egg yolk to ooze out once cut open.n- ordered a kids milk shake which the menu mentioned is made with ice cream and topped with whipped cream. The milk shake we got was not cold enough and super thin without whipped cream on top. It does not taste and feel like it was made with ice cream at all. We reflected the issue to the waitress and she insisted that it was made with with ice cream without checking with kitchen. I think the better service would be making an effort to go and check for your customer. My daughter was super disappointed and refuse to go to this cafe.
An A Team... Firstly the woman tending the door and seating customers was a machine. Definitely pulling her weight and then some. A support staff member/section waiter wouldn't have gone astray to help the poor girl.nnThe Breakfast Buritto was exceptional. As a cheese fiend I would have loved a little extra/cheese pull and the side salad could be dressed or seasoned slightly better, but overall a tasty bite.nnSpecial mention to the girls behind the coffee machine. Brown Sugar Shaken Thing With Cold Foam was to die for.
We enjoyed our food hear : a bit of a wait on Sunday morning but they maka a call when table is ready. We were waiting at the little park not far from Daark. Overall we do like it : will defo come back
Awesome place with great atmosphere. Food was delicious, coffee was amazing and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Definitely be back
