I studied at this school for almost 3 years. I arrived in Australia in 2021 and graduated from the Intensive English Centre in 2021, Year 11 in 2022, and Year 12 in 2023. IEC teachers are incredibly helpful, kind, and friendly. Most of the Year 11 and 12 teachers understand students' circumstances and support them on their journey. Student Support Officers are wonderful; they can help with finding accommodation, food hampers, jobs, Centrelink payments, and other support. Cyril Jackson has an Op Shop where students can buy clothes, including ball dresses and suits, for a very cheap price. The students are awesome; I never experienced bullying in this school for three years. The canteen offers many different healthy meal options, including halal and vegetarian. While this school might look quite old and not modern to you, the atmosphere is incredibly supportive and welcoming. In Year 11 and Year 12, students have a chance to earn a Certificate in TAFE. I seized this opportunity and not only obtained my WACE and a good ATAR score but also a Certificate III from TAFE. If you are a hardworking person, you will be 100% successful in this school because you will have all the tools to succeed. I don't have enough words to express how grateful I am to Cyril Jackson. Thank you for such a wonderful time, and good luck to future students!
This school is one of the incredible and opportunities to learn English. But also have an opportunity to learn pritical stuffs. My suggestion in this school I experience is I have a difficulty for the first time. However, in all respects, my beloved all IEC teachers who share love and kindness to teach me to improving my English. It's my pleasure to them and I appreciate their work for honest,love, kindness and patience. Thank you so much
Fantastic school. This is the only place my Autistic child has never been teased, and she now really enjoys school, and is able to sit by herself and work during breaks and finish all of her homework before she gets home, again without being teased or marginalised. A few teachers who are old fashioned and rigid, and refuse to praise students proportionately, but most are apparently better than usual, and that is Their problem. Over all my child has gone from 12% to 80 - 90 % in one year of attending Cyril Jackson High, and now my youngest child wants to go there too.
Parking available and friendly helpful staff at reception/admin. Access roads are not overly congested.
