When you want to get better this place is amazing, not too strict on the mobile phones depending on the nurse and most of the nurses are really nice of course you have your odd one that has their own issues it offers a lot of help and support and keeps you safe. Whereas, if you do not want to get better this place will only seem like a prison as other reviewers have said however despite the restrictions this place will keep you safe and try to help as much as you allow them to.
The last thing kids want when suffering from mental health issues is to be shut away from the world, and this is exactly what Box Hill CYMHS does. They take away all electronic devices and limit your phone time to contact loved ones to 10 minutes and outdoor time is limited. Staff seem to not care about the patients at all and have their own agenda. I was admitted for multiple mental health diagnosis' one of which being anorexia, and the nurses allowed me to skip meals. Box Hill CYMHS didn't help at all and I came out worse than when I went in. I write this review years later after being CORRECTLY treated, happier and healthier. To parents wanting their children to get the help they need: I STRONGLY encourage going elsewhere.
