I would like to express my concerns regarding the limited staff support available during our visit. Having personnel on hand to assist customers would be beneficial, particularly for individuals who may not be familiar with train schedules and routes. As someone who hasn't used public transport in 25 years, I found myself unsure about which trains to take for my intended destinations, especially since direct to flinders street seems to have been removed.
Functions as a train station but you could say that about anything. The bus system from my experience is not terrible unless you plan on catching the 671 route, because that specific bus rarely comes on time, with intervals of 30 - 1 hour according to the timetable but this is 90% of the time varied. There's no proper coverage, so you are basically exposed to the elements with the illusion of a roof above your head, some buses come way too frequently whilst others way too scarcely, no restrooms or lavatories, and no myki booths, from what I remember only one side of the station has a myki recharge machine, also keep in mind the bus stations are very close to the rails so there is a slight noise issue. Also keep in mind there is only one crossing which is a path across the rails, and the only place to exit the boarding area of the station is via the center, meaning if you got off at the back of the train, you would have to walk halfway along the length of the station, tap off, and walk that same length back on the other side of a fence. Carpark is pretty good, large and accessible.nnEDIT: they pillaged the old place and revamped it so this review is now useless. Will have another look after it’s finished
