I have the distinct feeling old mate behind the counter would have preferred to be at home, in his lounge room watching the soccer on SBS than serve us. He REALLY didn't want us to order two excellent Italian hot chocolates with marshmallow like cream on-top.
Pretty smooth and creamy gelato. Average sized scoops and not cheap, $6/8/10 for 1/2/3 scoops. The plastic spoons they give, however, are much too bendy and a little annoying to use. Customer service was not amazing, the gentleman serving us seemed a little disgruntled to be there on a Sunday afternoon. Tiramisu was quite disappointing, tasting more like a sweet wine than coffee, mascarpone or chocolate Pistachio was just ok but cost an extra $1 Sicilian peach was very good actually. Gives me hope that the other flavours might be worth coming back for
A cute little italian Cafe to sit and have a quiet coffee in the morning sun. Away from the main, busier areas of Great North Road, Cremeria Giuseppina really brings Italy home. Extremely friendly staff who make superb coffee and mouth watering pastries And gelato is what makes this Cafe stand out from the rest. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with ample parking close by. Five Stars
Sadly, a disappointing experience. Right off the bat, the one older male staff in the store was standoffish and unhelpful - it wasn’t clear what the flavours for the gelato were and if there was a menu, or table service. The gelato texture was great, and the flavour range was interesting, but the rose petal flavour tasted like straight up potpurri. The music was quite repetitive and dry as well, may have had a better experience getting takeaway. Unlike the description, it is not “cheery” but more “once a good spot but has lost it’s spark.”
Terrible customer service. Unfortunately we have tried many times to enjoy gelato from this store but each time we come in the man behind the counter is rude and abrupt with me and my children. My husband has also been in with the kids on separate occasions and he has had the same experience. We are local and want to support our local businesses but we just aren’t going to come back anymore which is such a shame! We used to love coming to this gelato store before it changed ownership. It just seems like the man behind the counter would rather be anywhere else, than serving customers.
What a cute and lovely place! A piece of Italy in Sydney. The gelato is homemade and super delicious and the pastries are just divine! Super friendly owners too.
What an absolute atrocious, rude and miserable man behind the counter. I can’t even explain my experience properly as I’m still in shock. I came here years ago and it was great but I didn’t realise it had new owners… until tonight. Fair to say this place must be struggling quite badly if the man wants to call the police on me for requesting a refund. I was yelled at, told to go somewhere else and to never come back, all because I politely complained and tried to return my order. Trust me I would never step foot in this dirty joint ever again and I’m hoping that anyone reading this, doesn’t either! Please read all the 1 star reviews and stay far far away from this pig of a man that works here. Completely unbelievable how I was spoken to after receiving stale and foul food and drinks. I should have let my near $50 blow away in the wind because it would’ve landed somewhere better than in this shops till. I’m expecting a defensive response from the owner so go ahead - to defend this arrogant man makes you just as bad.
Absolutely shocking service. Wouldn’t go back if someone paid me to. I went in this Tuesday wanted to buy a 1 Litre tub of gelato 3 flavours . There was no one in the shop, the gentleman was vaping outside, so not busy. He proceeded to tell me that I could only buy that if I pre-ordered, which I hadn’t. So he refused to serve me. I will not be back and I have already told hundreds of people about my experience. Oh and by the way he also told me while I was leaving quite annoyed, “you Italians are all the same and don’t come back!”. So I won’t and neither will hundreds of my friends.
Terrible customer service, very rude and arrogant man.The tiny scoop of Gelato had an odd taste & was not edible so I threw it out. Overall bad experience and way overpriced for the size of serving and poor quality.
Used to be amazing but since the new owners, I don't feel as welcomed anymore. The food is still delicious however the customer service has really dropped. It's quite a shame unfortunately!
