We stopped for lunch after looking around the homestead, I was well aware that the place closes at 2pm from looking at the website so made sure we got there in time. But why so early? That's my only complaint, hence the deduction of 1 star, I feel they could at least stay open until 3.30 or preferably 4 pm. My mother in law ordered scones with jam and cream, she loved them but did have to ask for butter but they were more than happy to oblige, my husband and I had ham and cheese croissants which were very nice, coffee good, although the pot of tea for two barely did two cups of tea with a bit over to spare. Staff friendly and obliging. Would go back again but they really need to rethink their opening hours.
Wow what a caesar salad! Even without the chicken. One of the best ever. Beautiful setting and friendly staff. Thank you. I'll be back!Food: 5/5
Honestly don’t waste your time in going here they advertise that they do scones which is something you would have for morning tea or afternoon tea and when you get there they’ve already closed. They say they close at 3 o’clock, but they close when they feel like it. We were there at 2.40 today, All the doors were closed and the girl just looks at me and says no closed. If you cannot value customers you should not be in business. You can’t say and advertise one thing and then do something else, where’s your integrity. You want people to come and support small towns then you treat them like this. I recommend anybody to move onto the next town and spend your money. Take your signs in also if you don’t want people to visit.
We enjoyed the High Tea last Friday, we weren’t expecting too much as the price is only $25 per head. We were so pleasantly surprised and impressed by the delicious treats and lovely barista made coffee included in the price. There were freshly made scones with jam and cream, sausage rolls, little quiche, lovely sandwiches and lots of cakes and slices. Most are made on the premises and all are delicious. It’s a lovely way to spend the afternoon. The house and gardens are charming and there’s plenty of parking too. We loved it so much we’ve booked in the family for my birthday in October.
Such a lovely cafe. Unfortunately they were sold out of scones. We couldn't get a table on the front verandah but they happily served us take away on the beautiful lawns in front. Well worth a visit.
Add to my previous review a couple of moments ago. I had for lunch the salt and pepper squid on salad. The salad had so much variety in it but the highlight was the tenderness of the squid. This would match or better what I have savoured in fish restaurants and all for a very reasonable price. You deserve the five stars.
Friendly staff, lovely food beautiful heritage building.
Lovely High Tea with 11 friends on 31st March to celebrate my 70th Birthday. Booked the main dining room and the food and service was fabulous. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it was something I had always wanted to do. Very reasonably priced in a lovely heritage building. One of my favourite places with wonderful memories of a wonderful day.
Had mother's Day high tea here today. What an unbelievable letdown that was to our tastebuds and wallet. Forgot to serve us and had to ask after half an hour watching later arrivals getting food before us. They also forgot to serve our tastebuds , stale bread, chicken roll meat that was left in the Gibson Desert for a week on a rock. On a nice note however the scones were lovely but the jam couldn't have been stretched any further if they tried Certainly stretched the bill as far as they could, dripped off the sides like a watered down Mrs Mac's pie. Supposedly hand made little bites, pretty sure Coles does not do handmade but I may be wrong there. Ok so they were run off their feet even though all tables were pre booked and no walk-ins served, i now wish i was one of those lucky walk ins. In short we all lost weight today including my bank account. Lovely spot and would highly recommend....
Not very friendly. My elderly mum and I were passing through and thought we'd stop for coffee and cake. My mum has a valid vaccine exemption due to health reasons but she was unable to eat here with her exemption. So we thought we'd just get take away and eat in the park but she was still refused take away service. Very disappointing. We took out money and ate elsewhere.
