Overpriced for the average food served here. Our table ordered 7 Ebony Black Angus Rump Steaks, they had an overpowering char taste ordered medium rare so 2 were sent back. We should have paid attention to the warning on the menu - char, char, char! The Barramundi Fillet and Prawn Tacos that came as replacement was nice. The chips for the table were also crunchy.
It’s our local and we love it. Great menu, good selection of drinks and good outdoor area to enjoy the weather when it’s good. Large kids fenced playground is a family favourite. This busy we had the fish tacos and Singapore noodle. Both delicious but need the fresh chilli we requested for the extra kick.
this review is for Courtyard Kitchen. Group dinner. All staff we dealt with were great - very helpful manager, very helpful waiter, table cleared when required. They were all great. The food ... was pretty average with an expensive price tag. Mains were $30+ - the steaks were tough, nasi goreng was disappointing, the poke bowl was great but lucky to get 70g of fish for $30. However, the place was packed - so maybe we are too fussy or expect more for our $. I only gave 2 for atmosphere because it really had no atmosphere ... just tables in a big space as compared to Hornsby RSL which has lots of niches for groups, attractive wall and ceiling treatment - feels more like cosy restaurant despite its size. Castle Hill RSL should check it out!. But the worst thing was ... we were seated indoors but may as well have sat outside which had heaters. We were near the doors and FREEZING all night. Seamless indoor/outdoor is ok in summer, but if its cold outside, either close the doors or place heaters indoors near the doors. It seemed a very popular place - just not for us.
Easy ordering, there’s something for everyone in the menu. Food served quickly, always with a smile : We love the gelato as well. Kudos to the service people for doing an amazing job to keep this place running smoothly during peak times. Always welcoming.
Great Restaurant inside Castle Hill RSL. Always very busy especially on the weekends. They renovated the Restaurant not long ago so the playground and the ambience are much better now. My favourite dishes are the fried chicken burger and slow roasted pork belly. Mid range price.
Had Peking Duck spring rolls... burnt to a crisp. Didn't touch them. Hopefully the RSL's other eateries are better.
If I could give 6 stars I would. Enough said. Nothing fancy, just GOOD. My home club always the best.
The venue is fantastic, the service is great too. Unfortunately, the food was completely the opposite. The steak I ordered was warm to cold, same as the fries. Tastes like it's been sitting in the kitchen for a while, and the salad smells off. The manager explained its because of the radish dressing, and offered a different salad. Oh, and the tables and cups really need a good wipe.
A wide selection of foods to choose from at Courtyard Cafe such as tarts, banana bread, friands, slices, muffins, pies and pastries. They also have some small hot foods available such as calzones, spring rolls, chips, sandwiches and chicken wings. In terms of drinks, they have coffees, teas, juices and milkshakes. I had a soy latte today which was nice, and the service from the lady at the counter was friendly. I would have coffee here again.
