Nice and leafy. Play equipment across the road however mostly not in the shade. Used to have toilets but not anymore. Basic fencing but not secure children can get on the road easily. Bubbler available. Picnic area: Picnic tables and one sheltered/shaded table.
Oak trees that are planted here by all our Prime Ministers
Excellent victory track walk to Clarinda, then 2 creeks further on right turn upcreek to Numietta Falls about 4 hours return and 210m up & down moderate mostly great track
A lovely place to go for a stroll and take a dog for a walk. There is a place where there is a bowl and a tap so the dog can drink out of that and a small playground nearby with public toilets. Side road parking so not recommend for 4WD
It's very interesting seeing all the plaques of past Prime Ministers. It's also funny seeing where they are placed- not always in chronological order- some have their tree planted far away from their political opponent!
Kind of an odd place. There is an oak tree planted for each prime minister of Australia. In theory you get a tree planted after you've left office. I could find one for Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd, but there was no tree for either Tony Abbott or Malcolm Turnbull. Not sure what this means. I am sure Scomo will get his planted in due course! Worth a quick visit, but nothing to get too excited about.
Good for walking with kids or dogs, learn Australian history, play area and toilets across the road, good picnic spots
Can't believe there isn't more information about this place. Fascinating
Difficult to rate. I was expecting the "corridor" to be set within larger parkland.. but this was a small area alongside the road. Maybe unfairly I've marked this down because of my expectations. The world is certainly a better place for little gems like this and I do appreciate the effort and thought that goes into maintaining this park. should I have scored this a 4 or 5 ?? !!! Maybe this does warrant a higher score for quaintness/being unique. Has public toilets nearby and children's playground opposite . Reading the names and dates of PMs does provide for a good conversation as you walk down between the trees. A pleasant 5-15mins depending on how long you spend talking about each PM.. would take 3mins to walk up and back without stopping.
We were expecting to see a grand avenue of oak trees worthy of photos and a tribute to our past and living prime ministers. Instead most of the trees appeared unhealthy. On closer inspection we noticed the dried skins of cicadas at the base of all the trees. We even spotted them on the twigs. Is there something that can be done to save these trees and halt the destruction of what should be a tourist landmark in this beautiful location?
