I'm writing this so I can hopefully move on from what has been a horrible customer service or lack of for better words. I give this review 2 stars to show honesty in my review. Initially cornell was very helpful in fixing my injectors in my 80 series, after another useless mechanic put oversized injectors in Lakeside Diesel... Dodgy Brothers. The car drove great! Thanks cornell diesel great job! opps wait a minute, the apprentice did not tighten the return line properly and I got diesel run on a day or 2 after. What a show that was! like a bush fire worth of smoke out the exhaust and the engine sized after revving it's self to death. Cornell accepted blame, which was muchly appreciated, hence the 2 star review.nThe rebuild process was quite drawn out, from my understanding due to lack of re-builders at the time. Cornells insurer needed all the quotes to compare. It took approximately 6 months to get the car back, this is not what really was the problem. It is the lack of ownership over the problems to follow that really makes this upsetting.nI followed all the maintenance services with cornell to avoid any problems 1000k, 5000k and 10 000k services. I would of stuck with them for servicing afterwards too if they were honest with me.nBut every time I brought an issue up it was either not an issue or it was an issue outside of warranty or rebuild at my expense.nI whole hardheartedly understand that sometimes this wold put them in a difficult position profit wise and as a business owner myself, do not want to cause unnecessary suffering on their part.nBut it got to a stage where I released that nothing would or could ever be their issue or the engine re-builders issue who was inconveniently in Melbourne.nSo what went wrong majorly? After the 1000k 3rd service after rebuild after the diesel run on indecent, due to cornell not checking apprentices work. I had some strong concerns about the quality of the engine rebuild due to engine temps seeming to climb too quickly and oil leaks. I also had concerns about the turbo looking like an inferior replacement.nCornell said that it was the steering pump leaking. I believed that maybe they were onto something as I did recall it coming up on a report just before the injectors were temporarily fixed by cornell. I did think it looked worse than a steering pump leak, but as I needed to get my gearbox fixed I asked my trusted mechanic not a specialist diesel mechanic, but great trustworthy mechanic to fix the steering pump and clean the engine, and check the turbo for any stampings to see if it was quality or not.nAfter the pump was fixed I took it back to cornell. They said that the tappet cover leaked due to a breather hose issue that wasn't covered under the rebuild warranty and the sump leak was due to an oil level sender that wasn't covered under warranty. I knew the tappet cover had a repair don on the breather fitting, so accepted that, but wasn't convinced about the oil level sender. But like I mentioned earlier nothing seems to ever be their issue. I was quite over it by this stage and had already realised that, they weren't the trustworthy mechanic I hoped they were. I also mentioned to Ben at front desk at this stage, that I wasn't convinced the turbo was of good quality, as It looked different like a chinese turbo. He explained that it was supplied by a reparable company. So a day later my wife is driving 1 and a half hours from brisbane and the turbo blows up! WHAT THE F%$K Seriously. 3 hours on the side of the road at night waiting for a tow truck that cost $450.nSo I loose my cool now and call ben on monday to just fix it.nHe plays the good semaritin saying it's a week out of warrenty but they will still get it fixed... come on seriously get over yourself. It shouldn't of happened. I then had to have several long winded arguments to get them to fix the oil level sender, that should of been replaced in the rebuild. yes that's right it bolts to the inside of the sump that ran dry after the engine burnt all the oil out of it
I recently took my Prado to Cornell Diesel Virginia. They were happy to accept it despite being absolutely filthy with outback mud! and diagnose water in the engine.nThroughout the lengthy process insurance involved Luca and Ben provided exceptional customer service. Definitely recommend. Thanks guys.
I recently had some problems with my 2007 BT50 and Cornell was recommended as The place to go to fix my problem.nThey did a test and clean on all injectors and fitted a new fuel filter.nAll good now “Sweet As”nThanks goes to Vanessa at customer service and Ben for heads up info, regarding what would take place for the task ahead.nHighly recommend these guys!
I recently had a great experience at this mechanic shop. As someone who isn't particularly knowledgeable about diesel engines, I brought my 80 series 1ft to them. What impressed me the most was their honesty. They didn't attempt to upsell me on unnecessary services and even assured me that some of the concerns I had were not worth worrying about. I appreciate their transparency and will definitely be returning for any future automotive needs.
Absolute legends. Rebuilt a Pajero for me and went to every extent to make sure that it was done to the best of their ability. Customer service from Vanessa was beyond compare. Dale and the rest of the mechanics are some of the most knowledgeable in Brisbane. Strongly recommend this place.
