Had a nice time swimming In the river and walking along the beach. Some nice shady areas to park and set up a picnic. There are public toilets and rubbish bins. Walk down the beach and look at the crumbling clifs. Or swim down the river to the river mouth where the river meets the ocean. Get there early to get a nice shady spot under a tree, other wise you will have to settle for a spot on the beach in full sun. No dogs allowed In summer but when we were there there were at least 10 dogs swimming in the river. I normally wouldn't have a problem with dogs but the people next to us left their dog chained to their car and swam off down the river. So dog was barking at us until we decided to go for a walk along the beach. Would recommend going here on a week day and not during school holidays to get the place to yourself. Great place to bring the young kids for a paddle as the river is not too deep, and the water is nice and warm. A nice easy 40 minute drive from New Plymouth city centre. Great four square shop close by in the town of Omata. Shop sells everything you need for a day out, they even sell towels.
Great swimming spot for the kids league park right next to it good day out for the family
Great little spot for swimming, beach or river. River has deep pools and shallow areas for littlies. Plenty of room. Bring the barbie or a picnic and stay the day
Great little hideaway swimming hole. Family friendly. No dogs during summer hours not that it stops some. Parking can be a premium. very popular on a hot day
Great park relaxed atmosphere swimming spot in river and beach as well bush walks. I like it
Love Corbett Park! Always the place to go with family to have a fun filled day of summer swimming...I love it more that I can take my dogs there as well always pleasurable.
Good place for a swim or walk.
OK - plenty of other lovely spots in the Naki, though.
Beautiful little spot. My family and I had a really good time. Would definitely go back.
