Boutique law firm specialising in Family Law . The law firm consists of three family lawyers (two of whom are accredited family law specialists).

Story

Patricia has worked in Melbourne, Cairns and London and has over 20 years' experience as a lawyer. During her time in Melbourne and London Patricia noted the emergence of boutique law firms. In 2004, as an Accredited Family Law Specialist practicing solely in family law, she decided to establish the first boutique Family Law firm in the Cairns area.

From that initial start-up in 2004 to today Cope Family Law has never looked back. We are now a busy practice with three family lawyers (two of whom are Accredited Family Law Specialists) and experienced support staff. We are proud to provide quality family law advice and services to local, domestic and international clients.

We have a high level of expertise in all property and child related matters. Our property law expertise covers complex matters such as family trusts, farming properties, multi layered business structures, investment schemes and various superannuation entities as well as the more routine home and superannuation asset pool.

Our expertise in child cases ranges through every variation of care, traumatic allegations and special needs children to the more usual case of simply ensuring that both parents maintain a meaningful relationship with their children.

We regularly undertake mediations, child support cases, spousal maintenance applications, divorces, Child Support Agreements, and Consent Orders and are accustomed to negotiating and litigating every aspect of relationship breakdowns.

We understand that litigation is a last resort and work hard to resolve matters in a respectful and cost effective manner. That said, where it is necessary we have a high level of expertise in managing litigation in the Federal Circuit Court, the Family Court of Australia, Domestic Violence Court, Childrens Court and the State Courts. Where there are urgent needs for restraints and injunctions to protect individuals or assets we undertake urgent applications to the Court at short notice.
