The building is amazing and being able to see some of the cheese making process would have been enjoyable, if we had arrived at a later time. We ordered a cheese tasting platter for 3, along with hot drinks for us all. Our drinks were well and truly finished a long time before our platter came out, even though we had requested them together. It seemed like our food order kept being put on hold while other patrons came in to order drinks and food. We waited about 30 minutes for the food. The platter was tasty, but a little more cheese would have been better.
Great coffee...great building renovations. Credit to the owners and staff.
Beautiful building, welcoming staff, a generous cheese and condiments tasting, great coffee- and cake! Such a lovely Coolamon experience.
Great destination, super friendly staff, and good pricing on meals.
This is a great little place to visit, relaxing atmosphere, great selection of yummy platers to suit everyone's tastes. Thank you Peter for your cheese tasting and helping us choose our platter. Love love love how this building is created..looks amazing inside, toilets are designed to fit in with the old style living. Great selection of fried foods, cakes, tea coffee and of course the cheese, and accompliments. Nice little outside area to sit under large large umbrellas. I've taken most of my family and will be back again and again. Great staff. Well done.
Absolutely astonishing to find a local small town cheeseshop with trophy awarded cheeses. Very informative to hear from one of the 12 proud owners, about the official cheese ranking methodology. Coolamun seems to plateau at bronze? Loved the cheese display windows at the back! Thanks Jen, whomever you are?
Unique cafe that specialising in cheese making art. The place look very different once you step inside. The food is reasonably priced and have multiple different variety to try. Unfortunately no hot food order after 3 PM. Camembert & Brie is the two cheese that I’ve tried and then take away. Hence, The coffee is the only one to try on. Surprisingly it is very good taste. Fish River roaster apparently won the medals at the Royal Sydney and Golden Bean coffee competition. Credit card payment facility is available.
We ended up here on a Saturday for a late lunch at 2pm, the place was reasonably busy but definitely not filled up with many tables still available and we were able to join two tables together for our group of 8. The food took nearly 40min to arrive, we watched the sandwiches sitting up under the heating lamps for nearly 10min. The service felt a bit haphazard, there were quite a few people working but we had a different person come to our table each time and there didn’t seem to be much organisation. I’ve attached photos, theres a chicken and Camembert toasted sandwich and pulled pork roll then the ploughmans platter...to be honest the best thing we ate was the sweet potato fries and aioli....the other dishes were just ok.
The cafe offers a seasonal and staple selection of locally sourced cheeses and meats. Food was fresh, service was impeccable and the atmosphere was unique and pleasant. Would love to visit again!
Disappointing, as food no longer available, and coffee only at busy times. None of the soft ripened cheeses available. Lovely friendly staff still, but the place is a shadow of its former pre covid self. All you could do was buy taste & buy what cheeses were available.
