We are lucky enough to live a short distance from Cook in Moortown and we have been loyal customers for many years now. The quality of the food is just outstanding; high-end restaurant standard grub which will make your mouth water. Just now I had the vegetable lasagna for lunch which prompted me to pay homage with this review. We've done Christmas entirely using the Cook range which went down very well. The range of food available is very impressive, ranging from simple lunchtime delights, snacks, desserts and big, hearty meals to satisfy any gourmand. Cook has a local feel to it, which shows in the quality and care put into the meals as well as the demeanour and friendliness of the staff.
Amazing food which made our Christmas day. Had the order for 12 people for Christmas day dinner. The food was awesome. Loads for everyone and the instructions were so simple to follow. Never been before but will be visiting regularly
My first experience with them, was too bad. The food was not nice, actually was inedible. I tried a fish pie and vegetable lasagne, each of them was worse than the other. I am not sure if I would give them a aecond chance in the future.
Food that is incredibly delicious and always a treat to eat! The server was considerate, friendly and absolutely lovely!
Love cook. They offer a 10% discount for new parents which has been great for us. Food is homemade and absolutely delicious. The staff in the store are always so friendly and helpful and the yummy tasters make food shopping fun. Wish it was a little cheaper and we’d shop here much more but it’s more of a treat for the price although the quality is brilliant!
Whilst I haven't eaten the food yet, service from the shop has been exceptional. Phone call received to let me know a meal was out of stock, very easily replaced and responded to email promptly! Everything looks fab and I am impressed with the portion sizes. As I had ordered pots for 1, I was expecting something much smaller. Thank you so much for making my first order a smooth one!

TL:DR Made us ill - Avoid! Overpriced bland food with loads of and loads of plastic packaging, stuff like this is just terrible for the environment. Update - as you asked for more feedback I will give it here, in a public forum. I had the beef stroganoff. The beef itself was similar to eating cut up Bath sponge, this was swimming in a very thin sauce whose only flavour was salt. I also have the sea bass languishing on my fridge, I'm tempted to just bin it. Plastic packaging, even that which claims to be recyclable rarely gets recycled. People are waking up to this and companies need to also. Simply stating is recyclable and washing your hands of the problem is no longer acceptable. Update 2 - against my better judgement I ate the sea bass. Well, half of it until the nausea kicked in. I felt queasy for a couple of hours then spent a fun 40 minutes on the toilet. My son was ill too.
The food is great and would really warrant a 5 star review, the store itself is worth a one at best. I've been using cook for many years on and off, the Harrogate store is friendly, inviting and nothing is too much trouble. However, this store in particular won't be receiving one penny more from me. Twice in the last two times I have been made to feel like an inconvenience, that just asking for the flavours of cheesecake was like I had asked the woman to tell me what her bank details were. No I do not want the lemon just because its cheap i want to pay full price for the one I would like, after the third time of asking and having a screwed up face given back to me as an answer I left. The time before I left without buying again, all down to a very strange feeling I was in the way trying to buy anything. No big deal though I'll happily drive to Harrogate instead even though I'm only a mile or two away from this store.
Lovely staff, so helpful! Food is healthy and delicious. John & team at the Leeds branch made a virtual Christmas gathering for our front line workers extra special. Customers for life!
