Concrete Jungle

I was recommended Concrete Jungle Cafe for brunch by a local and it didn’t disappoint. Beautiful interior, open kitchen, abundance of seating and a lovely glass brick feature bar. Staff were super friendly. Food was reasonably priced for the portion size. Not your standard cafe options, see the pork rib in the pics rich and full of flavor but very tasty.

Excellent customer service. Friendly and attentive staff. Nice, airy & pleasant ambience. It’s a great space and quite relaxing. I highly recommend the eggs Benny, brekkie mezze, green noodle salad and tuna rice bowl. The cold brew coffee is good too!

Just the service was very disappointing, waited over an hour for our food and over 15 minutes for our coffees. The food was excellent and coffee delicious. Maybe they're understaffed but went early on a Sunday morning wasn't too busy when we ordered but just ended up waiting so long. Cafe is very aesthetic for photos and a vibe and lots of seats.

Food: meh. Very much lacked flavour. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but just jacking overall, especially for the high prices they have. The short beef rib Benedict lacked the most flavour to be honest. The venue is also pleasing to the eye, quite big and modern. No toilets, you have to cross the road to go to commune toilets in spice alley. Overall, not impressed. Wouldn’t go back.

Nice restaurant, ok service because the woman who served me didn’t offer water when she did for everyone else. I ordered egg Benedict but the bring it with brisket which was shocking because normally egg Benedict come with egg and bread and they charged me around 45 with the coffee so what I did I had the coffee and I left the meat because it was around 9:30 I think. overall it was a ok experience

Attentive customer service. Very delicious food. We really enjoyed the KARAAGE CHICKEN BURGER and the JUNGLE FRENCH TOAST. Would definitely recommend it! The cafe also has free guest wifi. One small minor piece of feedback. We’d just wish the wait staff would give us some space and time to make a decision on what we’d like to order instead of constantly coming up to us every 5 seconds. It got very annoying. P.S. 2% surcharge on card payments.

From when I walked in I noticed the servers looked a bit lost like they didn’t know what they were doing and that should have been a sign for me to walk out but… Service wasn’t up to basic standards. I ordered the simplest item on the menu - scrambled eggs on toast - and didn’t even get a chance to eat it. It took a lot longer than it should for them to get to my order, by that time I was already late for an appointment. I asked for take away instead and was told it was ready. It should have taken a minute to put my order in a container but about 8 minutes later I was still waiting for it. I asked if it was really ready and the lady said ‘no’. I ended up just paying for my drinks and leaving. It didn’t look too busy so I was surprise it took so long to make scrambled eggs. Also, I’m almost sure they just served my order to someone else instead of making it take away. After I said I just wanted to pay for my drink I saw the waiter say something to the chef who threw a towel angrily on the counter and walked away. The kitchen is not hidden away so customers can see everything and this type of behaviour in front of people isn’t a good look.

Short rib beef benedict is a great take on a classic. Absolutely perfect combination of tender beef, flaky croissant, an okonomiyaki, two perfectly poached eggs and an excellent hollandaise which really can make of ruin the dish. Coffee was great as expected, and service very friendly. Be warned though, this dish is substantial so be hungry.

Cannot fault the service even a little!! The servers looked happy to be there, attentive and friendly. The hotcakes and burger was 10/10. Wish the chips were a little crispier and crab omelette had more meat. Matcha latte and cold pressed juice were great too. Will be visiting again for sure

very good food and servicestuff always check if we are alright. The rib Benny it’s tasty. We should go next time try other dishes. That’s a good spot in Chippendale
