Delicious lunch meals and coffee. Come here if you love cheese and gelato. Lots of produce available on the walls as well. Very busy at lunch time. Grazing board was amazing but maybe order extra bread with it. Staff happy to put tables together.
First time here and we were very happy. This is more than just a Cafe but that's what we were there for lunch. Loved my burger and my girlfriend really enjoyed her toasted ham sandwich on Turkish bread. Both of which included locally made ingredients. Seemed very popular for their icecream and the fromagerie. We will definitely be back on another trip to Malaney. Parking: Street parking. Can be hard to park close by at busy times.
After a morning drive around the beautiful hillside towns in the area, this was a lovely treat. My mushroom breakfast was almost enough to turn vegetarian! There was something for even the fussiest of eaters and a shame that I couldn’t quite justify having ice cream at that time of the morning. A divine cheese and Italian meat selection was too tempting not to take some back. The helpful gentleman suggested a variety to take back for an evening game of cards of which the truffle cheese was a unanimous favourite!
A weekend away; we took a drive to Maleny and it was time for lunch. We stepped into Maleny Food Co. – a large, airy, light space which used to be the newsagent apparently. We ordered at the counter, and both chose the smoked salmon bagel, which was delicious. Freshly baked that morning, the poppy seed topped bagel was tender inside and crunchy outside. In fact, it was one of the best bagels I’ve had. The salmon and cream cheese were plentiful, and tasty. There were spinach leaves too, if you’re keen on greens. I had a cappuccino, while hubby drank a strawberry milkshake. My coffee was fine, and he enjoyed his cold, nicely-berried shake. There is a fromagerie cheese room at the front, and shelves full of food goodies. We really enjoyed the bright, light atmosphere and the friendly service. Oh yes, and gelati too! And I nearly forgot the orange and almond cake; I found it a bit dense but hubby loved it. All up, a pleasant break.
Thank you for catering such a delicious spread for our post-wedding brunch! We loved the selection of cheeses, meats, veges, fruits and dips. The perfect end to a fabulous weekend!
If you have a hankering for gelato on the way through Melany, swing by Melany Food Co for their awesome gelato. Fresh tasting is how I'd describe their gelato. My son and youngest daughter had their vanilla in a cone. Portions are huge for the price. Maybe I'm not used to people being so generous. For the same price in Singapore, you won't get that much gelato stuffed in the cone. I had their strawberry gelato and it was delicious.
What a busy, busy place. The staff can barely keep up at lunch time. Still, kept their cool and did manage to serve everyone. Tasty food, and their cheese tasting room can get very busy. Bought some cheeses. Had the lychee ice cream; divine.
The service was really bad and we had to ask twice for our table to be cleared from the previous occupants and twice for it to be wiped down. The salami in the Italian flatbread tasted nasty, I'd wanted the gnocchi but it wasn't available. I was surprised as it's not a big menu and it was only 12.15? The iced coffee was very ordinary and had no ice so was a bit warm. The green juice tasted like celery. If you like celery I guess that's ok. It seemed as though there were plenty of staff but they weren't coping and there seemed like a lack of organisation. I'd joined a queue of people to buy some preserves, as we were leaving, but in the end gave up waiting. I know it's not good to compare with previous owners but the ice cream is not as good.
I travel a lot for work but never expected to have the best eggs bene in this place. All their pastries are very good. Coffee is great. Gelato are the best. Just goodness.
This is a very quaint café with a fantastic fromagerie. We ordered sandwiches which were very tasty. The brownie was delicious. The staff was friendly. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu and buy cheese.
