We bought a pomegranate from Coles just 45 minutes ago for a party we’re attending this evening. When we cut it open, the entire fruit was rotten and completely off. Absolutely disgusting to buy something advertised as fresh and find it’s inedible. Pomegranates are expensive, and this was meant to be part of our food for guests.nnTo make matters worse, we live hours away, so driving back just to get a replacement is completely unreasonable. We tried calling the store to discuss the issue, but the phone just kept ringing—no one answered. Extremely disappointed in both the quality of the product and the lack of customer service.
Love being shoved around and yelled at by a Coles staff member.nnI was shopping on the weekend 15/6 when I was shoved from behind and yelled at by a staff member. This staff member then proceeds to complain loudly to another coworker, as if we don't exist or don't know English. When explaining that because they stopped in the middle of the aisle to pick something up, so I had to walk around them, they carried on to shout at me again while walking away.nnWatch out for a short orange-haired girl, in case you look at them funny and they shove you around while yelling at you.nnI'm not sure if Coles still has customer service training but this store needs a refresher course.
Obnoxious & disrespectful treatment...nnToday I was shopping at Cole's in aisle 1, around 11.40 with my partner. As we approached the middle of the aisle, I saw a Cole's worker who suddenly stopped right in the middle of the aisle because she dropped an item.nnIt was clear that she was annoyed as she let out a very loud sigh, but we decided to walk around her with the space we had as she was blocking the path for us.nnAfter she picked up the dropped item, she ALSO picked up her phone and continued walking in a rushed manner and ended up walking into my partner. If anything we were walking around her but instead she just slammed into my partner. Not only did she not apologize for walking into someone, but she added many sarcastic remarks. We had to remind her that she was in fact...standing right in the middle of the lane, clearly blocking the middle of the aisle.nnShe came back yelling at us raising her voice. I even had to remind her...to walk on the left.nnQuite shocking to see such treatment from staff who was clearly in the wrong. No apologies, but rather obnoxious behaviour with her yelling and raising sarcastic comments to her co-worker as well.nnStaff who was yelling has orange hair, had access to a work phone so I would suspect she's in a less junior role.nnPoor management and training if this is how Cole's wants their retail staff to treat customers.
They close 5 minutes early.nSomeone wanted to buy a single item and was turned away at 9:55pm despite the closing time being 10:00pm.nI told them it shouldn't be closed yet and they corrected me. I don't know why they did this, just keep it open for actual duration. Like I said it effected another customer.
I often pick up my Click & Collect orders from Coles through DoorDash, and the staff are usually great. But there’s one Indian lady I didn’t catch her name who always looks annoyed and speaks in a really arrogant way. When you’re dealing with customers, that kind of attitude can really ruin the experience and leave a bad impression of Coles. I’ll make sure to get her name next time.
