Colac Hire

We have had the need to hire everything from a dunny to a vibrating plate separately fyi and the equipment has been perfect, working first time every time and the team has gone over and above. If there was 6 stars I would give them that.

We recently hired a scissor lift from Colac Hire for a solar install job in Colac. They sorted out a scissor lift for us to pick up at very short notice, and when we got held up on the job and we couldn’t return it to the yard the Boss came out and picked it up for us no trouble at all. Colac Hire was great to deal with from start to finish and we can highly recommend this local hire company, we will definitely be using them again, many thanks to the team at Colac Hire.

I have recently moved to Torquay and needed a skid steer loader in a mad rush as the other company we were going to go through stuffed us around. Chris the owner was extremely helpful and very happy to help out. My partner was not able to pick the machine up as he got stuck at work, so Colac Hire were happy to deliver. I cannot praise these guys enough. Friendly service, decent rates for hire and happy to help when needed. Thank you very much. I will be back again when we need machinery for the backyard.

We have used Colac Hire for many years. We have always found the team to be responsive and professional. Nothing is too hard. All that said, I forgot to mention they also have excellent plant. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I hired a pricey piece of equipment which didn’t work as expected and we weren’t able to use it. I rang the office and asked them to come and collect it early and got an earful about how my operator mustn’t know what he was doing he did. I then called into the office a couple of days later to settle the bill and asked whether there was any room to move on the price, given the circumstances. I wasn’t asking for free, just some negotiation. At this point, manager Chris Cone unleashed an angry rant blaming me for not knowing how to use it, for changing the booking due to weather and refused to budge on the charge. He was so angry he went red. It was quite surreal. I said several times I just wanted to settle the bill, not have an argument, yet he continued ranting, even as I walked out the door. Well they got their two days hire, charged directly to my credit card, despite the machine sitting in my drive for only a few hours. But they will never get any return business. Not because of the money, but because of the incredible rudeness. When I told a local tradie about my experience he said, “Yeah, that’s why people hire their gear from Geelong.” That’s exactly where I’ll be going in future.

Hired a digger for the weekend. Machine was in good condition and worked perfectly. The turnaround time was great. Paper work completed quickly and machine ready to go. Will use again.

I would definitely recommend Colac Hire. Well maintained equipment, best customer service, if you have any doubts or complains just let them know and they are happy to help. Provide Good advice too.

Hired his floor grinder it had no dust cover so the dust completely covered my whole house he had nothing to say and was very arrogant about the whole situation will never ever deal with them again..pretty much told me to f'''" off
