Food tasted very nice but service was a little slow and staff were okay.
Wandered around Coffs Harbour this morning looking for brunch. Came across Cocoa Cafe which was quite busy inside as it was fairly cold. Got the brunch special which was the French toast and the naughty Nutella hot chocolate which is also a special this week. Both were absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and the service was good for a busy breakfast time! Would highly recommend!
My husband and I arrived quite early to an almost empty cafe. We were initially ignored when we walked in, finally one of the workers organised a table for us. However they made a rude remark over the fact we wanted to be seated outside. The service was appalling, we were made to feel so uncomfortable even though we were super polite to the worker. The food was a huge let down, cold yet burnt and took a very long time to arrive even though we were the only table waiting for food. The coffee was horrible also, no flavour and definitely not made properly. Such a shame since this cafe used to be lovely. Will not be returning.
Tried going there 3 times stood at the door for way to long as it says wait for service and no one came. Moved on to next cafe where was great service. Sat myself the 4th time I went there but was spoke To horrible because it’s table service and you need to be sat. Wanted a Nutella hot chocolate which is $9.90, I’m lactose intolerant so asked for no cream. Turns out that’s a normal hot chocolate which is priced at $4.90 ? Asked for an extra plate and the big nose man said he had given us one when we wanted an extra for my grandmother as the 2 of us were sharing a big breakfast. Would have spent more money and brought food to take home but decide to go get cakes and scones from the cafe next door. Don’t usually leave bad reviews because it’s easier to speak to the waitress about the issue but when you try to go to a cafe 4 times and each time your brushed to the side like a peasant by Sadie waitress’s it’s worth leaving the bad review.
We recently visited Cocoa on Easter Saturday and while the outside area was busy the inside area was almost empty. We ordered coffee which smelt burnt - not roasted and the two meals pictured below. We had two team members approach us the entire time we were there, one to seat us and the other to take our order which we already placed because we didn’t want to wait any longer. The gentleman out the front was friendly but the other two seemed too busy to be service oriented. The eggs Benedict seemed to be undercooked producing a lot of soft egg white and the sauce didn’t quite have the right balance which left a vinegar taste. Nice enough but wouldn’t order that again.
Unfriendly staff, no hello or how are you. Rip-off - swapped bacon with salmon and got fully charged for the salmon. Complained but got told ‘that’s normal’. No it’s not normal, we eat out regularly and never happened before. First and last time we stop here.
If you're looking for an inviting smile, greeting don't go here. Counter staff rude & impudent, in a small town like Coffs harbour, reputation is everything. People skills drastically lacking.
Over priced, was charged to have the eggs in a dish scrambled?????? Waitress was a bit sour as well. Food is really good though
3.8 Bright modern coffee shop in the center of the lovely CBD here. Nicely fitted out with good furniture. The whole thing is rather smart. The coffee was good here. It’s as I like it. Dark, strong and bold. Service was good too. If there’s a one preventer here it’s the outstanding conveniences. They’re beautifully fitted out and scented. In a coffee shop. Absolutely outstanding. Recommended. 3.8
Excellent service and great food. I really enjoyed my food. Avo smash was delicious
