We are asking our friends, community and customers to support our application for an extended trading permit to remain open until 1am on Fridays and Saturday and until 12am on Sundays. We are required to demonstrate that there is demand from our customers & community and that this is in their Public's interest. How can this place have less than 5/5 I'll never know? Food on point, absolutely flawless! Compliments to the chef, everything perfectly complimenting whats on the plate. We went for the chefs choice and it was divine. You're staff are also out of this world, the perfect balance of engaging, knowledge and enthusiastic about the food and drinks on the menu. Clarence’s Bar in Mt Lawley are currently offering an AMAZING vegan set menu every Wednesday night. This week’s menu was 2 shared entrees, a shared main and shared dessert for $39 - and honestly this was one of the most impressive vegan meals I’ve ever had!! The presentation of these meals was on par with the best fine dining restaurants I’ve been to, and every meal was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. I also really loved the unique ingredients such a pipian a thick sauce made from pepitas and green peppers and tepache a fermented beverage made from pineapple, brown sugar and cinnamon, which I had never had before but both were incredible! Entree 1: Heirloom carrots with seeded red pepper sauce Entree 2: Charred eggplant with harissa, fennel and mint Main: Mushroom five ways with pipian Dessert: Tepache, caramelised pineapple, whipped vanilla coconut cream, macadamia Do yourself a favour and book in for one of these dinners ASAP! The dimmed lighting inside makes it perfect for a romantic date, and there’s also a beautiful courtyard outside with fairy lights. Please note you need to book in advance, you can do this by booking on their website Wednesday nights only and then select the vegan dinner under the options tab.
One of the better ol’ fashions I’ve had in a while. Food was amazing but low light made it harder to photograph - also I was busy enjoying the potato dish too much to think about photos. Safe to say this place does one of the best chicken breast dishes I’ve ever had in Perth.
I recently visited Clarences and was blown away by the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. The drinks were top-notch and definitely exceeded my expectations for a Perth bar, but the real standout was the ambience. It was the perfect setting for a night out with my friends, who had also visited before for a romantic dinner date. I highly recommend this bar to anyone looking for a great night out in Perth, thanks Clarences!
I booked the outdoor courtyard for my birthday.21 Jan 23 A group of 18. 10 days before the event I was advised I had been moved to the "upper courtyard". DON'T BE FOOLED this is a walkway. Up 1 or 2 steps. Approx 2.5 metres wide with patrons walking past us from the back courtyard to the bar and toilets and staff taking food and drinks to the back courtyard past us!!! Not sure how we were all supposed to fit. The door from the bar opens onto this area and is the only access to the back courtyard. I live in the country so I had no idea what the space really looked like. Fortunately my cousin visited and advised me I would not be happy. I was about to spend approx $2000 for my birthday here canapés per head $48 Plus a generous drinks tab. I felt misled and let down at the last minute. This area is not large enough to advertise as a "space to suit celebrations". The email I received said ...positioned perfectly between the bar and the lower area, for your group size it will be nice. ......This area is great for groups of up to 20. !!! I'm so glad I didn't go ahead I would have been so disappointed.
The service was friendly and very attentive. We were warmly welcomed when we entered. The cocktails were exceptional and full of flavour. As the food, we had the Beaufort three course dishes to share between two for $80.00. There was no dessert included in the price. The dishes were beautifully presented but all in all ended up tasting the same as the same purée and garnish were used for all three dishes other then some added seeds for the pumpkins which was a nice change. The purée and an onion garnish was very tasty the first time but after the third dish it’s all we could taste. I would recommend maybe trying one dish and coming for drinks! Just an edit: it wasn’t about the dessert, it was regarding the three dishes we were given all having similar taste with the same over powering purée and garnish.
The food is so authentic I haven't seen it anywhere in Perth. So much flavor and creativity will be back soon. Also, thanks to the staff for pairing some tasty beers with the grub! Compliments to the CHEF and the team at CCS. Will add photos next time, unfortunately the food didn't last long for a happy snap haha!
Had a blast for my partners birthday at Clarence’s tonight. The team greeted me like an old friend and the cocktails were unreal. Give the Gin-ocalada a shout next time you are in!! Shout out to Eli, Vitus and Taz for being such awesome hosts. Can’t wait to come back and try the hangar steak!!
