Clancy’s is a well known establishment and this joint proudly bears the quality that the others are known for. While not all dishes on the menu are a hit, there are a few that you really can’t go wrong with - the chilli mussels are some of the best that you can have, with generous portion too, their chicken parmi is one of my favourite, and their fish tacos are amazing. There’s usually a very casual vibe in the place and there are plenty of seats to place a large group too. Staff are friendly and there’s ample parking in the area. Some nights have live music which turn it into a great place to spend a Friday night or weekend. If you haven’t been here yet to any of them then do yourself a favour and pay a visit!
Came here for a quick dinner and had a great time. Food is much much better than the Fremantle one. Staff was very friendly too. Will definitely be back.
We came here today for my partner's birthday and had such a great experience. We were both craving chilli mussels and decided to give Clancy's a shot, definitely weren't disappointed. They were some of the best ones we've ever had! We also tried the Akoya, chicken ribs and fried mice which were super delicious. The staff were so lovely and made my partner feel special on his birthday, we will definitely be coming back!!
Chill place with light music. I have had grilled barramundi with chips and salad. The fish was not great but alright Had carlton light to wash it all down. Awesome place to chill on a weekend.
Updated review Sept 2021 Apple Cross Looks like the menu has had a facelift. Started with fried calamari and Fried Mice Stuffed hot peppers yummmo Shared a seafood platter, whitings, crab linguini and lamb shank. All the dishes were cooked well. Lamb shank fell off the bone. Only issue was some of the mains came out too late. Great beer selection.
We've been going to Clancy's for two years and used to love the place; the food was good realiable pub food. Not the Ritz and generally more relaxed than the Raffles down the road for a nice 'TGIF' meal. Several months ago around Easter we took visitors there on a Friday night - the place was busy which is normal, but it took around an hour for everyone's meals to arrive. OK so that's life, and it was a holiday, no worries. However my wife ordered the fish tacos, and was eventually served a plate with tortillas that had been cut into tiny 'wedges', not more than a third of what a normal size was. I kid you not. Clearly the kitchen had started to run out and had started to 'economise' on the size by cutting the tortillas down to 30%. Each looked like the segment from a pie-chart. Presumably a pie chart detailing the satisfaction from the meal itself, which also was around 30%. It would have been preferable to have been at least told that we'd be getting after waiting an hour. OK so tonight we decided to give them another go and ordered take away chips. Ordered Large at $9 worth. That's Australian dollars and not pesos or coconuts or sea shells or anything, mind. The attached photos illustrates what arrived. A train-station kiosk sized serving of standard chips, and placed in another giant paper bag. Kind of like when you buy a packet of tic-tacs from Amazon and it arrives in a box that would fit a stereo. 'Oho' I thinks - 'This feels light, I've got someone else's order'. On notifying the serving-personage I was informed that, no, in fact this was my order. Luxury chips, presumably at Applecross prices. The better end of Applecross - the end with the water views and the ugly houses. I wasn't aware that Heston was in the kitchen. 'Sorry mate - we just do two sizes now'. Only have to assume that the size I got was the 'Heart Foundation Approved Regular' rather than a regular-regular. Methinks next time I'll have to put the good slacks on and head back to the Raffles.
The specials, tuna and salad, and trevally salad chips were excellent. Fresh seafood and fresh salad, healthy. The calamari has delicious light batter.
Seafood paella was way too spicy when I was told it wasn't hot or spicy. Friend had the seafood platter, mussels were cold & the 1 oyster on the menu that was given looked like it didn't exist. Chips were good. Can't say we'll be back. Shame.
Tried all of the house wines - the house white was the best. The oysters Kilpatrick were absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was amazing: casual, relaxed, enjoyable and a good volume. Bathrooms were incredibly clean. The staff were fantastic! The live performer: Moondog - was an absolutely mind blowing artist. Favreau blues performances. The sound technician from Clancys did a wonderful job of setting up for the artist and making sure he sounded great throughout the venue. The Sheep dog & Coconut Dead Man's Fingers were both also delicious & highly recommended served on the rocks or neat. 100% returning. You'd be crazy not too.
Great place for a catch up. Food and drinks are reasonably priced too.
