Have been using this place since we moved here 6 maths ago. It WAS the "go to" chippy locally. Sadly new owners seem to have lost the plot. Waited 35 mins tonight for dried up chips and grey off tasting fish which went in the bin. Managers special...no thanks!
This was the first time I had ordered from CK Fish & Chips but it certainly won't be the last. Fish was great quality and tasty, generous portions. Certainly value for money. I really enjoyed my meal and would recommend people give it a try.
Chips were horrible for a solid 9 months. Perhaps have listened to feedback, they seemed to be a different brand and were tasty. Fish and chiko roll etc were also good this time. Cheers for adapting. Worth another try people.
Good taste and quality in the northern suburb. We ordered a family pack which included 3 fish and a big size of chips. Very enjoyable. And looks like a new owner with good responsibility. Recommend !
The new owner, who works in the shop unlike the previous ones, has made big improvements. The shop is clean, food is properly cooked, no bad fish like before, service is better and you get what you order. We have bought her frequently over the past 5 years and made numerous totally futile complaints about all of the above to the previous owners. Can now recommend without reservation.
We tried CK's about a month ago and it wasn't what it used to be. I soon found out that it was under new management. Fast forward to last night and after what we were served up we will not be returning. Was told at the time of ordering that it would be ready in 15 minutes which I thought was a stretch given the size of the order. I waited some 45 minutes for my order to be completed. Whilst I was waiting the rest of my order sat in a box on the bench not in the bain-marie keeping warm. By the time I got home I was missing a third of what I ordered and when I called them they told me it was being wrapped up now. I got back to the store and was told I would need to wait a further 15 minutes. By this stage it had been and hour and 15 minutes since they said my order would be ready. I requested a refund for what was missing. To add to this experience when I finally sat down to eat, the frilled fish was inedible due to the weird spicy lemon / chilli pepper that excessively coated it and the fact it needed to be reheated.
Absolutely delicious cooked fish was cooked really well and this the new owner has taken over the place looks cleaner well done
I bought $5 of chips. The chips were the worst, blackened, old, stale, tasted horrible. Won't go back there again to CKs fish cafe in Pearsall. Don't bother. Too many school kids behind the counter chatting, no hair safety nets used, and chips are awful.
Fish was fresh , fries were crunchy. Really LOVE the fries!! Friendly owner, staff and service. GIVE IT A GO, highly recommended!
Sorry for Alistair Cross' review he is not mentally well functioning. He was overreacting the fish was decent and don't worry about replacing the meal. 7/10 food and 10/10 customer service
