The service I have received at Civic Maylands has been great! They have some great deals on at the moment with ex-rental dvds for sale - I have just added many great titles to my dvd collection - thanks Josh! I will be sad when the store closes as I have been a loyal customer for many years.
Watch what you are charged i spent a fair amount of money here because i thought it would help keep it open as there arent many video shops around. I purchased ex rentals hired dvds and bought food. There is no way of checking the operator has charged you correctly nor was a receipt offered. I returned all dvds i borrowed before the time was up. A few months later i recieved a surprise text to say i never returned one dvd and that the outstanding balance owing was going to be referred to a collection agency shocked i called the owner at the store. He advised me that the dvd i "borrowed" was not returned i explained i ensured all were returned. That it may have been one i purchased he said he highly doubted it as it was a new release well it turns out i was right i purchased it so i didnt need to return it i advised him of this. He told me that i wasnt charged the correct amount for the purchase and that i needed to pay the outstanding amount. I explained that this was not my fault and that i shouldn't be held liable for something that wasnt my error but rather his staff.
Friendly staff. Helped out with discounts when we forgot discount booklet.always a great movie night from civic
