Such a great theatre that holds a variety of performances. The acoustics and design of the theatre make every visit one to remember!nThe service is amazing, each member of the Civic Theatre are more than willing to assist you.nnA valued piece of history in the heart of Newcastle!
Lovely classic old theatre. We went to a morning matinee of the Mousetrap. Booked in row 3, next time I would sit a few rows further back. Got there an hour early to enjoy a snack in the cafe first. Reasonable prices and good service.
Well, I wasn't inside for a performance. I was outside and performing! The event was the One Song Sing for Christmas and we were performing a 4 part arrangement of How to make Gravy' by Paul Kelly. Somewhere between 1000 and 2000 people learning their parts and singing their hearts out. Fabulous. It's now on my calendar to do every year!!
Great theatre and comfortable seats in the Dress Circle, saw Rocky Horror Picture show on Tuesday the 16th January no Jason but the cast were awesome and the singing incredible! Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Would have given it 5 stars but the seating configuration is poor. Everyone in our party of 6 had trouble with visibility. We were dead centre about 15 rows back. The problem was you had to sit with your head practically in your neighbours chest to see through the people in the row in front. Seats should be staggered more.
